Small Business Saturday - Amex store

Just a reminder that if you registered your Amex card - you will get a $25 credit on your statement if you shop at a small business today and use your card.

(We had an unsuccessful errand today - the small business (jewelry store) did not have an appropriate chain to replace one that is causing allergy issues for DD.) They are ordering in several options - and DD will need to pick one when she is back after her semester is over.

Both my husband and I spent $25 at a store that sells local artisan cheese. I love trying the different cheeses, but at $18-$25 a pound I don't get it often. So today we spent $50 on fancy cheese.

We had our older one serviced and inspected because we'll be taking it to WDW next month- and that $$ back will help!

The newer one got a really thorough cleaning inside and out, and now it looks gorgeous! Hopefully more $$ saved!

So I am trying to find somewhere else - but worried I won't get my credit back

We took part of the family to our favorite Japanese restaurant. It's a bit expensive, so we usually only go on birthdays, but with $25 "off", the $60 bill (after a $5 school coupon book coupon) didn't seem so bad for three adults and one kid. It would have been much cheaper if we could have gone for lunch, but for some reason they don't serve lunch on Saturday. I have enough leftovers from my dinner for three lunches. DS and DH ate theirs for dinner tonight.

We have two AMEX cards, so we picked up togo bbq with the other card.

I thought the map on the Small Business Saturday website was hard to use. It took me a couple of tries to find the restaurants. We had eaten at the bbq place for last year's event, so I thought they were taking part, but it was hard to find them listed.

We used it as well! Got my mom a Vera Bradley purse she wanted (for Christmas). $60 was more than she wanted us to spend (she kept telling me to look in consignment stores, etc), but with the $25, I just bought it and told her I got a good deal. We'd never been in the store before - cute little shop (and only a few mins from my house). Will definitely be going back there, too!
