Well, after our first trip I am already thinking add-on! Our BCV use year is June and I would like to stay with June. We got our original re-sale through Jaki and I am calling her back today but I realize that a small add-on may be hard to come by. Is it worth calling Disney to inquire since the cost per point is significantly higher? We are returning home till next summer. Have any others had luck with small re-sales and patience? Thanks for your input.;)

Actually, with a smaller contract, the cost thru DVC is NOT that much higher.

For example, if you found a 50 pt contract at $78 per point (smaller contracts tend to sell for much higher prices than larger ones), and add $500 for closing costs (just an average), you are looking at adding $10 to the price of each point...which comes to $88 per point...and most of those little contracts are stripped when they come to the market. DVC will sell you one with all current points for $89 per point, and probably get it to you a lot faster. I know that a few weeks ago, DVC was sitting on a large number of August and Feb BCV points...they may have June as well.

Good luck in your decision,

I scoured the resale sites (many sites) for months looking for a small BCV contract that matched my use year that wasnt devoid of points until 2006. I found nothing!

The stripped contracts were selling like hotcakes too! As a DVC member, you can always contact your guide and request to be placed on the BVC waitlist to addon points. I did this and a week later I had BCV points. Yes they were $89 but there are no additional costs to purchase thru DVC so like Beca said, the small resale contracts end up costing the same or more.

I was able to addon 2 small 56 point contracts with current year points thru DVC this way. Resale the closing would have cost me $1000.

Thanks so much for the information LIFERBABE and Beca! I was looking for a contract in the 25-60 point range and did not think about what the closing costs would do to the price per point!
