Is this a good movie? It's on HBO tonight and I seem to remember it did pretty good in the box office, but I know nothing about it and I am wondering if it is worth watching.

I thought it was facinating, funny, tragic, hugely colorful, well done and it left me wanting more. I think it will charm your blanket right off your lap tonight. Enjoy!!

DH and I both loved it! There are some scenes of violence, but it really isn't gratuitous, IMO. Not a typical Hollywood movie, at all!

I know i"m in the minority, but I didn't love it. It wasn't bad, but I just didn't love it.

My daughter loved it. I didn't. It was well done, but very depressing.

We thought it was a must see, but it is pretty intense. Excellent movie though!

Very good movie but my DW was put off by the child abuse.

It totally deserved best picture. It was sad, inspiring, at times funny. It was a great movie. Don't miss it!

That movie won the Oscar for best movie at the Academy Awards last year. It was very well done. It was also interesting following the real-life stories of the slum kids who were cast in the movie. Did they ever get the new homes they were promised?

I think it's worth watching. Was it my favorite movie? Was it the greatest movie ever made? Well, I wouldn't put it in that category, but I thought it was very well done, thought provoking, stayed with me for a few days, and held my interest.

I liked it, very much. Yes there is violence and child abuse, but it is based off life and life isn't always rainbows and butterflies. It's horrible but it's inspiring to see them rise above that.
The music is good too.

The main actor and actress are dating in real life.

I wasn't sure what to expect and wasn't thrilled with this movie. It did depict cultures that we like to think never existed, but I didn't find that very entertaining. My wife didn't like it at all and while I didn't dislike it, I wouldn't bother seeing it again anythime in the future.
