Anyone else resurrect this game from their childhood? My kids love it, and I find I'm constantly pointing out VW Bugs to my 3yo, who will find them on her own, but screams "where, where?" if someone else finds it first.

Yesterday, I was pointing at this yellow bug and the driver saw me and gave me the "whatchoolookinat" look. :rotfl:

Made me wonder if bug drivers get that very often, and if they wonder why so many people point at them?

My kids play "Punch Buggie" all the time. Although we did stop the punching and just keep count now to see who wins. :teeth:

We told our kids to just tap each other gently, instead of slugging them, but they started just keeping count on their own, too. Siblings today just don't beat up on each other the way they did when we were kids. :rotfl:

We play to bruise here......

slug bug yellow can't punch back.. WHACK !! :rotfl: :rotfl: I hear that alot in my car.

We used to own a 2000 VW "Punch Buggy" as well. We used to love to drive by kids standing together in groups waiting for the school bus in the morning. Without fail, the kids would first point at our car, when start beating on each other! It looked like a do it yourself kung fu flick! :rotfl:

We play, but not much of a challenge around here unless they have to be first generation bugs. Waaaaay too many of the newer ones around.

We play slug bug around here, but also don't hit. How about PT cruiser Bob, which is worth 2 hits!!! My cousins had "hit issues"!!! As a matter of fact, they also played copper bopper and hit you when they saw a cop! :confused3 :teeth:

Slug bug yellow no slug backs!! We played that in the church on the way to youth group things. We also had Cruiser Bruisers. I think the youth pastor was VERY glad that the van had tinted windows!

Slug bug, bruiser cruiser....we basically beat the crap outta each other every time we leave the house.... :rotfl:

My daughter plays all the time. I'm just sitting there oblivious apparently. :rotfl2:
Yesterday I actually saw one before she did. She was so proud of me. She pretend wiped a fake tear. brat. :lmao:

Okay, well my mom wouldn't let us hit each other so instead of saying "Punch Buggie" we had to yell "Beaver" . Whoever got the most Beavers won the game. A red beaver was worth five points. Since I was the youngest of five children, I had no idea our game was different than anyone else's. Imagine my surprise when I yelled "Beaver" in my friends car only to have them PUNCH me and yell "Punch Buggie!" :rotfl:
Nowadays, I think she'd rethink the whole Beaver thing!
Our kids yell "PUNCH BUG, no punch back!" But they are not allowed to punch each other... I couldn't bear to pass down the beaver tradition.

Like famofsix we play "punch buggy, no punch back" We also play "yellow car" That is where whoever spots and calls out any yellow vehicle they get a point. We keep a count for the day. Of course, if Mom is winning, they combine their points!!!! How fair is that?

Funny this coming up tonight. My boys have been doing this for months now and target me. I finally told my oldest tonight that if he didn't stop hitting his mother his father and I were going to tie them up and seat belt them in the car and slowly drive through a VW car lot. :rotfl:

As long as someone else starts it we play, if I start oh no they don't wanna play. I have weird family memebers

My DSS(12) plays it all. Punch Buggy, Cruiser Brusier, and the yellow car game, that changes to Sling-o if it is a yellow Bug. I have a blue VW bug. My rule is (and yes I am a stick in the mud) that I am exempt. DSS and my Dnieces get mad at me b/c I ask them to stop. When I was a kid it was Slug Bug. And you were slugged, hard.
