We did a big renovation last year, and I got rid of a lot of stuff then. Then we pretty much made the crawl spaces in our upstairs inaccessible, except for one where we keep the luggage, so I am in pretty good shape there. I have all the Christmas stuff organized and in those big Rubbermaid contianers down in the basement. I just got rid of my old end tables and coffee table(college age nephew took them!) and some packing boxes that were too good to throw out but annoyingly taking up space. We have shelving in the basement for storage and stuff is so much better organized!

My DH is s-l-o-w-l-y working on organizing his workshop area, and then I think we'll be set!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could help each other out in this endeavor!

I don't have a sister to help me clear out this "stuff" gathered over 31 years of marriage. My husband is a pack rat - I'm only half a pack rat. I figure if start now, I may have this place cleaned out by the time my youngest DS graduates high school - he'll be a junior this year.

I'm certain that if I could manuever to get this cleaned out and organized for a garage sale, I could pay for a couple of trips to WDW!

Unfortunately, I have a full time job outside the house, inside, and out in the yard (very little help from the 3 males I live with). One is getting ready to leave home for good this time (I hope - for his sake). This will be the third time I've sent him off......

I'm doing that too. Slowly but surely. Usually my problem is that once I get rid of something, I need it the week later. So, I am doing this slowly, making sure I can't find a place for it, and making sure I really don't need it.
I don't have the extra money to replace something I just threw away, and it would tick me off. lol

Anyway, my house is too small for all this, and it's hard to keep things organized. If I get rid of stuff, then maybe it'll be easier.

Good luck everyone, and hang in there. Any little bit we get done is wonderful.

Raises hand!!! I am so there!!!

Today is paper day (my files, kids, old, memory)...ugh, ugh, ugh...I think I am going out of my mind.

We decided after 15 years and five moves that it was time to clean house. Called for a 20 yard dumpster so we could just throw things away. No garage sales or anything else. They only had a 40 yard available. Told them to go ahead and send it, knew we would have plenty of space left over. BIG SURPRISE! we filled the entire dumpster.
