I was thinking of going to the world at one of these times for a week
1st of December,
last of January or
1st of Febuary

Any Ideas or your thoughts?

Thanks Mike

The end of January (actually the whole month except for the very beginning) through early February is slower than early December. More people are going the beginning of December now to take in the decorations and go to MVMCP than I've ever seen in the past.

We like the second week of January (prior to MLK weekend). We leave Disney when everyone else is arriving for the long weekend.

We choose the last week of August/first week of September because it's less busy and things are still open fairly late since it's the summer.

January. (Right after MLK weekend). Weather was great. Crowds were very reasonable. No transportation issues.

I agree exactly. The crowds were veryy small when I went this previous August.

There are alot of slower times but if I were you I would check the Walt Disney World website about what rides will be down when. We lucked out when we went in January and everything that was closing for renovations did so the second half of our week there so we just sort of hit certain rides when we first came in (Pirates of the Carribbean, Sword in the Stone, Buzz, Test Track). I mean, I am a teacher now so I can't really go in the off season for a while BUT there are def pros and cons to busy and off seasons.

From January 5 or so through President's Day (save for MLK weekend) is a very slow time of year for WDW. I vote for either the last week of January or first week of February.

Last year, we spent a week at WDW in the end of January.
It was fabulous! I can't imagine it being any slower than it was.

We like mid september- not too close to the end of Sept when MNSSHP start.
Warm enough for water parks/pool.
Very light crowds.

I agree this is a great time to go .... We have not been able to do so since our daughter has entered HS. But that comes to an end this year .. she is off to college next year, St. Petersburg, Fl. to be exact. Eckerd College studing Marine Bio , Animal Behavior her dream is to work with marine life hopefully at Sea Work or at Living Seas...

Our goal is to return to our old August Schedule maybe in 2008

great to know. I already posted this on another board, and hoped to book something for next winter. We went Feb 10-17 and it was very busy. I expected it to get busy later in the week as it was the week before presidents week, but i thought sun/mon/tues/wed would have been great and they turned out crowded. Soaring was a wait for 75 min by afternoon!

We always go the week of MLK in Jan. and it is great but they have a lot of ride rehabs then too. We missed out on Splash Mtn. and RNR last trip. I love the weather though.

Our best trip ever was mid November. The weather was great, the crowds were very light (we rode ToT three times in a row with minimal waiting time). I believe it was even Super Soap weekend and it was still great. We now go in March - only because by March we need a break from the winter & snow (although we really haven't had it all that bad this year), but I'd love to go offseason again.

Our last 2 trips had been in late January early February. This year we went Feb 10-20....NEVER again. The first few days were ok, then everyone was coming in for President's Week and Cheer Comps, as well as some on Winter Break. I too saw the 75 min wait times for Soarin'. The only time there were really no waits was our first day at MGM and the night we did the Pirate & Princess party. We went hoping the weather would be warmer than when we normally go, and they ended up getting a cold snap. Couldn't stand it later at night. And that's another reason we went later this year was to enjoy the parks later, as Jan/early Feb, they close early. It's worth it with the parks being lighter in the day, early to bed early to rise and go again!

My favorite time to go is the second week of May. We have gone at this time every year for the past four years. The crowds aren't at their absolute lowest at this time, but they are manageable and we have never waited in line for more than 20 minutes (using smart timing, Magic Hours and fast passes). It is after spring break and before summer vacation. The weather is also just about perfect (mid to upper 80s and little to no rain). I think my secret has been getting out, though. Last year the crowds were a little heavier than in the past. I'm hoping it was just a fluke. DH and I will find out in just 62 more days though!

Dec!!!!
We were just there the 5-12 and it was perfect, value season and the parks looked amazing decorated for Christmas. Plus at MK you can buy tickets for Mickeys very merry Christmas party......no lines at all.
:santa:

Looks like we'll be arriving at the exact same day, may 5th :)
Here in the Netherlands may 5th is a very popular day to go to Orlando. Most flights are full for that date. It's the start of our spring break.
But I've read many good things about may and as long as I don't have to wait in line for hours, I'm OK with some crowds!
See you there! :woohoo:
