You know what drives me nuts? Slow walkers. Yes I know, how intolerant of me. Please know that I'm not referring to folks who are up in age, arthritic, or disabled in any way. I'm just being grouchy to everyone else.

And I'm fully willing to admit that it is, indeed my problem. I should stop to smell the roses like a lot of other folks seem to. But I have this habit of flying everywhere I go. Is anyone else here like that? It's a problem, I admit it.

Actually, let me specifically target slow-walkers in packs. I work in this huge, sprawling office complex. Often I am on my way into the building, to the ATM, cafeteria, a meeting and I never fail to get behind a group of chatty ladies strolling casually (and s-l-o-w-l-y) along and spanning the width of the hallway. Could maybe one of them step aside and let me move on? Never.

And just slightly better are the slow-walkers due to impractical footware. Now, I can't make good time wearing 3-inch heels either which is why....I don't wear them.

Ok, there is my little rant. I know many of you in big cities can probably sympathize with me on this one. I can only imagine trying to work in NYC, for example, during December. I would go insane! :rotfl:

(ps, don't go all crazy on me and take this post too seriously. I'm not all that serious myself.)

I'm with you, all except for the three inch heels. I wear them every day and I still do everything in warp speed!

I hate being stuck behind them too. There's a time to walk, and there's a time to stroll. And don't be strolling when I'm trying to be walking!

I totally get it! I've always got someplace to be and something to do, so please don't slow me down.

I drive the same way...not too fast, but slow drivers drive me nuts (those on their cell phones, or looking around like they're lost).

Yes, I know I'm impatient. And, yes, I know it's a problem.

My MIL is a slow walker. Over the summer the hubby and I went to the MN State Fair with MIL and FIL. It was horrible. One hundred degree weather, insane humidity, 100,000 people, and my slow poke MIL. She would be trailing along in the sea of people while FIL was cruising ahead with the hubby close on his heals. I had the choice of either ditching MIL and walking a normal pace with FIL and the hubby or walk at a dying snails pace with MIL. It was a miserable experience to say the least.

Maybe all slow walkers could be outfitted with Healys? If they continued on their slow poke ways at least we could roll them out of our way. :thumbsup2

Well, I'm from NYC, so believe me, I know what you are talking about. :lmao: My friend is worse than me, she goes nuts walking behind slow walkers. She says (not out loud of course) "This is NYC, there is not a place to be walking slow".

I'm a slow walker -- hey, I have short, fat legs! What drives me nuts are people who are always in a hurry. Slow down! Don't knock the fat lady over!

What's the saying... anyone who drives slower than me is an idiot and anyone who drives faster is a maniac? So true! :lmao:

My favorite is the people who feel the need to text and walk. We had a fire drill here at work today, and here's some guy walking at a snails pace texting away and no one could get around him. Someone finally said something to him.

:lmao: Now I know why kids on Healys don't bother me....they can't catch me!

I have a friend who is a SUPER fast walker. So fast that her (little) kids have to run to keep up with her. It's funny, she has 4 kids and they are always running behind. I don't know how she doesn't lose them. Lord knows she tries. There are, by the way, the thinnest, fittest 4 kids you've ever seen.

Yes, I hate it! I was a fast walker all my life, they called me Speedy Gonzalez. In our 3 story school, we had 6 minutes between classes, I could make it in 2.

Until I had my knee replaced. I'm such a slow walker now, it's annoying. Especially in my high school, leave it to me to get the schedule that has classes on the opposite ends of the school. It's back and forth all day and I'm stuck walking like a tortiose, incredibly slow!

I totally agree with you. I'm a fast walker, too, and getting stuck behind a bunch of slow walkers all spread out on the sidewalk or in a hallway makes me nuts.

I've raised a fast walker, too. Although, now that she's almost grown and I'm getting older, she's been telling me that I'm walking too slow. :lmao: She did temper that by telling me that she still does enjoy walking with me more than anyone else since I can keep up better.

This is too funny! My family is always complaining to me that I walk too fast and always leave them behind. Its not my intention, I just like to walk fast and always have. I have one SIL who is usually my x-mas shopping buddy b/c she is the only one who can keep up with me due to her freakishly long legs.

I'm totally with you on the slow walkers...especially when they are traveling in packs. Sometimes I start to panic if I can't get around them right away, or immediately! :crazy2:

I am a fast walker and my mom is a super slow walker - makes me nuts when I go somewhere with her. :headache:

I don't mind the slow walkers as much as the people that feel the need to stop in the middle of the walk way to have a family meeting. This is especially true going through adventure land at Disneyland. The walkways are narrow enough without you (generic you) and 5 or more of your closest friends stopping in the middle to decide where you want to go next.

I'm a self admitted slow walker! It drives me nuts when I'm with fast people. I'm 4'10" and my boyfriend is 6'4". I take three steps for every one of his. When we are walking, I have to jog to keep up. It's not that I move my legs slower than everybody else, I just have to take more steps!

The one time I'm faster is in a place like Disney because I can slip through the openings nobody else can. My friend are always yelling at me to wait up for them there and reminding me that they can't fit through the gaps that I can. I guess being short does pay off sometimes. :rotfl:

It's not so much the slow walkers but the people that need brake lights on their backs or turn signals.

I'm a fast walker too. My boyfriend is a kind of a slow walker so I constantly have to remind myself not to lose him. He hates when I walk way ahead of him.

On the otherhand, I am a slow driver (which means I drive the speed limit). I think I irritate a lot of people on the interstate but I am nice and stay in the slow lane.

He he hee :rotfl:

I am too a fast walker, and in high school - we called them blood clots. They were blocking the whole artery.
