Hi there you all!:)

I have developed some medical problems and I have a two week SOLO trip planned for September. I have never been on vacation alone in my entire life and have really been looking forward to this. Might be the only time I will ever get to do such a thing.

I have recently developed A Fib with no underlying heart problems, still checking for other causes. It leaves me weak and tired and I am taking Coumadin, just upped to 8 mg.

Since I am frequent visitor to DW I do not feel the need to do everythng and since I have a whole two weeks I am not in a rush.

I am thinking that I can go and have a good time and take it slow. I am not interested in a chair as I have suffered greatly to lose about 130#'s so far and need to keep walking as long as I am able. As long as I do not get out of breath I seem to manage.

Anyone have any tips or advice if they have done trips with some or all of the same issues?

Thank you so very much, Slightly Goofy

I think it will help alot that you're a frequent visitor to WDW and thus probably know your way around a bit. September will be hot and humid so it may affect your stamina. For me it works best to take an afternoon rest at the resort. I see you're staying at Pop and thus will have the bus service which will make it easier if that's something you might want to consider. Are you doing the FD package? If so being able to relax over a longer meal in the a/c will be nice and something to plan your days around. We also have a 2 week trip planned at Pop at the same timeframe and also chose 2 weeks so I'm not worried about wearing out and thus not being able to keep up with my family as we won't be needing to push ourselves. We'll also probably split up quite a bit as I have a grandson who still naps- perfect time to nap with Grandma(me)!. Please say hello if you see us- it's me, a black lab SD, and three other adults with an extremely cute grandson in tow. We'll be the ones trying to maneuver in the food court and not having an easy time, lol.---Kathy

dclfun, those were my thoughts too. I usually plan my TS meal (free dining) for either an early or late lunch to avoid the high heat part of the day and take my time meandering. Snack credits go toward iced tea usually but I am not allowed that now. :confused3

It is all I can do to walk into and out of the parks once let alone take a mid afternoon break. I usually go to the parks late and stay in late, alternating days with busy/long hours and less busy/short hours. Gets a bit harder each trip but well worth it once I get there. :cool1:

I hope to run into you at some point. I am terrified of dogs but not so much service dogs as they do not jump or bark as a rule. Phobias are a pain.

Rent an ECV from an offsite company. Use the ECV to get from your hotel to the resorts then to one central area. Park the ECV then walk around for half an hour to an hour then return to the ECV and move to another area. This saves you energy in the beginning then at the end gives you a ride home. If you have a spell or just get tired from too much excitement, nasty guests, long lines, heat or what ever then you can take the ECV home.

For me I hated getting tired when I was at the far end of DCA or Disneyland. I would often have to walk out of the park in short distances then set a spell. The same with WDW as it can be a long long walk our ot the parks. There can be rude guests or surprises that detour you like street performers and parades. You do not have to use the ECV as your only means of getting around.

mechurchlady, since this is a solo trip and I have always been a homemaker I am on a tight budget and can only use my own funds, in low supply. The price of a scooter would be nearly equal to what I plan to spend a day on room and food. :) It took all my powers of persuasion to get 'permission' to go at all.

I make a plan to circle the park so that I end up near the beginning when it is time to leave. No more running back and forth across the park(s) for me anymore. Just wish they had not taken out so darned many of the benches. ;)

I sit and rest a bit here and there on my way to the buses as I know they will be full and when I get a later bus I get a seat.

Thank you for your input, I appreciate it, SG
