slo's Wednesday poll - Taco Salad

What do you like in your Taco Salad?
this is a multiple choice poll!!!


I am making taco salads for dinner tonight. I use the bowls you can eat and then in it I put:
refried beans
taco meat (mild)
cheddar/jack cheese
shredded lettuce
tomatoes
sour cream
guacomole
and salsa on the side (1 mild for me & 1 hot for DH)

I love taco salads. Quick, easy and yummy!!

I put everything you listed in a bowl you don't eat.
The meat is usually mild for the kids, the salsa is too and we use a pre-shredded packaged blend of Mexican cheeses. (Unless it's just for me and DH then I use pepper jack.)

Now I really want a taco salad.

When we make these at home it is:

lettuce
mild or medium meat - beef
cheese - Colby, Pepper Jack, Chedder - any combonation that I have on hand and lots of it.
tomatoes - DH only
crushed up Doritos - the original ones
Seven Seas Italian Dressing.

If we get them from Taco Bell - we get their standard salad, but have them hold the tomatoes on mine, and add extra meat, cheese, and sour cream to them. Also, need lots of their mild taco sauce, as we don't like the salsa they give you.

Lettuce, ColbyJack cheese, taco meat (mild), tomatoes, salsa (mild), and crushed up taco shells. DH & 1 of my DS's add jalapenos and DS sometimes adds refried beans to his.

I would rather have black beans than refried beans. The refried beans in my opinion make things to clumpy.

I like whatever kind of cheese in my taco salad, however I find that sharp chedder is not my favorite for this entree.

I won't eat the bowl either. They are so bad for you (even though they are so good)

This reminded me of the taco salad we had when we stayed at South of the Border on I-95

lettuce
celery
carrots
red cabbage(!)
browned ground beef, no spices
cold kidney beans
boiled eggs
American cheese

I don't think these folks have ever been to Mexico

Mild taco seasoning in the beef, prepackaged Mexican cheese blend, sour cream, tomatoes, sometimes shredded lettuce, in a bowl with Tostitos bite size tortilla chips.
