Would you pick up an earthworm?

I pick up earthworms alot ::yes::
If it rains, and they are on the driveway, and I'm not going anywhere, I will pick them up and throw them back into the grass so they don't dry up.
I also will pick them up and throw them out of the way while I'm planting, so they don't get chopped by my shovel.
My 8yr old DD likes earthworms too. She likes holding them in her hand.
We are a weird family - I know!!!!!

Yes, I pick them up. Worms are cool!

When DS was little he had an earthworm farm. Built himself a square box, filled it with worms and fed them table scraps. He kept it going for about 3 years when he was into fishing in the creek out back. When he moved on to surf/pier fishing... he let them go!

Other than that, same scenario as you. Hate to see dried up worms on the driveway and I feel bad when I cut one in two in the garden.

No, I don't pick them up. The only time I should, is when i'm at the golf course, and they are on the green between my golf ball and the hole. TG about all the other golfers at the club know about my bug-phobies. They pick up the worms, they go look after my golf balls in the bushes-with-spiders, etc. :teeth:

Worms don't bother me, but spiders on the other hand:scared1:

I will wait until they are squirming/moving and part of their body is in the air, then I put a small stick under them, make sure I can balance them, and then I will move them off the pavement....

DD and I found one while planting flowers the other day. We watched and waited for it to squirm out of our way before putting our flower in the hole. Very interesting. And very good for my garden.

If it didn't move, I would have picked it up and moved it. And my kids like holding them in their hands too!

I ate one on a dare:scared: it was really juicy:eek:

Just moved a few from my driveway this morning. Made sure I put them in my flower bed.

I used to pick them up when I was little. I would dig in the dirt, find a worm, pick it up and pull it apart. It was amazing seeing both ends moving. When I think about it now it's gross, but I loved scaring my friends with it :rotfl:

I used to pick them up all the time and thread them on a fishing hook when my kids were little. Didn't mind it at all even though I detest fishing.

Hmmm, maybe I'll pick some up next time it rains for old time's sake. :goodvibes

gah no.
i can't stand bugs.
i run from ants why on earth would i hold a worm??

I pick up worms and move them too. Just walking through the neighborhood yesterday I saw so many dried up ones on the road. Poor worms. I also put them on fishing hooks, poor worms.
