If it's possible to have negative artistic ability, I have it. I think I subtract from the sum total of art in the world every time I try to do something artistic.

Youngest ds was the vice president of the art honor society in high school.
My grandma enjoyed crocheting and crafts

Not with visual arts but I am pretty good with words. Everyone in the house writes well but if someone is stumped all I need is a conversation about what they want to say and the vibe behind it and I can wordsmith whatever is requested very quickly. I am also a decent editor and can pull out mismatched words based on subtle intent, different words vibe differently in sound and meaning so choosing the appropriate words is very important.

I don't use much punctuation here or when texting, I was told long ago by a creative writing teacher that it leaves people cold if writing is too technical & agree that conversational writing is to be conversational.

I am not particularly good at visual art or being crafty. I can do some design work that I feel is decent, but rendering it is another matter. I do fancy myself as a bit of a writer though, and I do like to do that sometimes, so there is some artistic talent in me for sure.

Art is subjective, but I consider myself to be artistic (not to brag!). I'm a videographer and editor by trade. I'm not one to paint a landscape or sketch a portrait, but I like to create things that could be considered "art" (a tree house, 3D prints, wood carvings, furniture, digital designs).

Heading out on our first cruise ever next week on the Wish and made this door magnet out of foam and kids clay.

You know, the idea of one forum being more valid than another never quite landed with me, it is an elitist notion IMO. Who is to say that a genius idea might not be found in graffiti or writing rap or lyrics, which is poetry? Writing is writing and if writing is a skill, like all skills it can be sharpened anywhere.

I used to tutor kids who struggled with reading and would help encourage my kids friends. After talking a bit, more often than not, I would discover that parents on their own and sometimes on the advice of teachers, would discourage the sorts of reading the kids liked as in comics and graphic novels and such. What an absurd line in the sand to say to another human that their preference is not valid? I always wondered, do they want a person to read or to enjoy what you do? If you are enforcing preference, well then you will end up in a standoff because force of will always wins 100% of the time. First, get a kid reading then, second, maybe encourage a particular genre but you can't teach high ordered technical reading to a person lacking the skill.

For the record my eyes are rolling and I have a twitch as I write this, again, elitist nonsense IMO, can't stand it. God decides where and how genius will show itself, no-one else & elitism gets in the way.

Depends. Drawing I have a negative number, I can't even draw a straight line using a ruler. I used to do cross stich and was pretty good at that and I used to crochet and was pretty good at that but I don't do either any more. I do pretty good at underwater photography but anyone who does any kind of underwater photography will tell you, it's usually just patience and good luck. I had to lay in the sand for a good ten minutes to get this. Hubby was doing video and got video of me getting the shot.

I’d give myself probably a 3. I can’t draw or paint at all, but I am fairly crafty and good at arranging/decorating a room. I set up a big Christmas village every year and I think I am good at making that look special.
