Socks or barefoot, with or without slippers, depending on the season. Usually the first thing I do when I come into the house is kick off my shoes. Unless I know I’m going out again soon.

I wear my sneakers inside and outside but when I change for bed wear sleep socks.

Bare feet in the hot summer, socks in spring and fall, fuzzy warm slippers and socks in winter.

All of the above.

In the summer I'm usually barefoot.
In the winter I wear slippers and sometimes socks. There is some crossover between shoes and slippers - I have slippers that can be worn outside (get the mail, take the dogs out, etc.) and some shoes that are practically slippers that I leave on in the house sometimes.
If I'm going to be going out again soon I might not bother to take off "outside" shoes.

All of the above.

Because I need to take the dog out throughout the day, I do wear shoes through the day. If I didn't, it'd be slippers.

Since the pandemic, DH has instituted his own inside/outside shoes and is pretty militant about it. But I haven't, so I guess my picked-up germs overwrite any good his procedure does.

Any combination of the poll applies to our home....I do have what I call my "inside shoes" which are just Dansko felt shoes/slippers that I often will put on, but not always. We don't have any rules regarding shoes in our house, we've got a lot going on and are often in & out multiple times a day.

I wear a pair of Crocs. I need more support than slippers generally provide. They are strictly indoor Crocs though. If I have to step outside for something, like bringing in the trash cans, I switch to a pair of flip flops I keep by the door.

Shoes... but it's the norm in my area. I don't think I have ever visited someone's house that had you take them off. But in all honesty I kind of wish that would've been a thing in my house or growing up. You can really tell the wear it has put on the carpets and such. HOWEVER I have three dogs, one of them sheds daily and drools. I don't really wanna step in any "surprises".

Bare feet most times or start with socks and take them off to cool down…lol Kids are the same.

My husband always wears slippers. Never see him in bare feet Unless going into water. When his parents visit they always brought in door shoes.

Depends on the season. Summer barefoot or Flip flops because we are in and out of the house and by the pool. In the winter slippers or new sneakers I'm breaking in.

Barefoot but if coming home, I won't always take my socks off so I also selected socks. It's winter now, socks more often now. Summer rarely socks unless I'm in and out of the house.

My place is a piece of junk so I'm not worried about shoes in the house. I have nowhere to take them off anyways and walk to where I would put my shoes, it's no big deal.

Other people, I wouldn't tell anyone to take their street shoes off in the house, nor would anyone else ask me or their guests except I know my mother would freak out.

My mother is the only person I know that has specific shoes to wear in the house and wears them all the time. I don't know anyone else who wears any kind of shoe in the house. Many I'm sure wear slippers, most just socks.

This has come up before.
Colder climates where you are outside in -30 weather with snow boots you often will take off your shoes while visiting people.

Socks in the winter. Barefoot in the summer.

I hate wearing shoes and not crazy about socks either, but I have flat feet and as I’ve aged the foot pain has increased to the point where I am rarely barefoot even at home and then really only when I am winding down from the day and not still mostly on my feet. Lately I’ve been wearing a fuzzy supportive sandal type shoe inside. During the warmer months I would either wear sketchers slipons without socks or the most supportive flip flops I can find.

Mostly barefoot, if it's really really really cold, I'll wear sock. I'm barefoot right now, it's a rainy 50 degree day so not cold enough to put on socks. Anyone can wear shoes or not wear shoes in my house. Hubby and I both keep a pair of sandals by the door to wear if we take the dog out or go to the mailbox, I also have a pair of fur lined moccasins there for the really cold days if I don't have socks on, since I can wear my sandals with socks on.
