I've never had a desire to own a timeshare. One of my brothers has one in Las Vegas and uses it now and then but I feel he has put a lot of money into it vs just going out there and staying on one of the casino/hotels.

Exactly. I prefer just to rent out weeks in the Timeshares in Las Vegas. The Elara and Marriott Grand Chateau are both very nice. You don't need to own a timeshare at either place to stay there.

We have DVC. I think we’ve added on twice so a total of 3 contracts. Our original one was bought in 1998 so very early on and we added the other 2 contracts around 2010 I think. My husband is very work focused and having DVC kind of forces us to take a vacation as he doesn’t want to “waste” the points. If we didn’t have it I doubt we’d ever take a vacation. He would put it off, waiting for a slower time/this or that project to be over. For us it was money well spent, but I don’t think I’d consider another time share company. And we couldn’t afford to buy DVC now—rates have gone way way up.

Yes. DVC owner since 2002. Have no plans to sell. Would rent out our points for cash or use that cash for cruises.

My parents bought into DVC in 2010. I was an adult so was added to the contracts. My dad has since passed so we typically use it and bring my mom with us. :)

Don't have one, I have heard they are to be avoided. It is much easier to just do a VRBO or something when you want to go somewhere. Besides, it might get old going the same place every time.

Never had one. Only one we would have considered would be DVC but never really explored the idea.

Yes, we are long time DVC owners and for us it made sense, and we use them each year and have stayed at many of the resorts. this past June we stayed 10 day at Aulani and it was a great trip. If we want to take a ski trip instead, we just rent out the points to cover the accommodations. We did own another timeshare and that was nothing but high-pressure nonsense every time we would check in. I ended up calling the timeshare company and deeding it back to them.
