Have you ever made Sun Tea?
If yes…..how often do you make it?

For Me……I’ve never made Sun Tea, but I think I’m going to make some soon. My DH likes iced tea and I typically don‘t, but maybe I’d like it more if I made my own and could add lemon to it or add lemonade to it. I like trying new things - keeps life from getting boring.

I drink iced tea w/splenda all the time but sun tea takes too long. I'm all about instant gratification. I buy Luzianne family tea bags and use 4 bags for a gallon pitcher. Add 2 or 3 cups boiling water to the bags and steep for 6 minutes, remove tea bags and fill pitcher with cold water and ice. In less than 10 minutes I can have iced tea.

When I lived in AZ it was a staple in the summer. Unsweetened only - any bit of sugar added 🤢🤮

Now that I’m back in the Midwest, it’s only been made twice. Makes me a little bummed … I loved sun tea!

My mom used to make that all the time!

I like it, and make it randomly when I decide I want some, but I haven't made any recently.

Does sun tea taste any different, or is it just the idea that it's all natural?
I'm not sure. There is something special about it, but I'm not sure whether it's actually the taste or just that it takes no work to get it - the sun just gives it to you. sun smile.png

I'm the one person in the US who doesn't like iced tea. To me it tastes like something that might've been better before it got watered down.

My mom used to make it at our last house, because we had a pool deck that was in the sun all day. There really isn’t a good spot to make it where I am now.

If you like strong tea, but want it cold, make ice cubes out of tea, so they don’t weaken the drink as they melt. You can brew the tea as strong as you like, so it doesn’t have to taste weak. Make the cubes in advance and place them in a ziplock bag so they are ready when you get thirsty.

I’ve never made it. I drink unsweetened iced tea all day every day, but just make it in the microwave—I boil the water in a large glass batter bowl, add 4 tea bags when it’s boiling and then let it steep and put it into a pitcher and then refrigerate. I do that probably 10 times a week and try to never run out.

I drink cold tea all the time. Haven’t made sun tea in years.

Brewing tea really doesn’t take anymore work then sun tea. Place tea bags in container and boiling water, wait until it cools, place in fridge.

Never heard of it, but am willing to try.
What's the gist, are you leaving it to steep while the sun warms it up?
Do you add ice afterwards?
Are you using a particular type of tea blend?
