Worked many years in a corporate office and have many clothes. Though I buy much less now, I always liked nice clothes since a young girl.
DH and I always wear dress clothes to church and occasions.

I think dressing up on occasion is a good thing. I have always enjoyed the formal night on a cruise and seeing everyone in their suits and dresses. I myself like to wear a suit, with my overcoat and a fedora when I have a nice night out with my wife or a work function that requires such attire.

Dozens of dresses for various occasions - formal dresses, weddings, funeral dresses, church dresses and casual dresses…even some Disney dresses! I’m retired (about a year and 1/2) and WFH the last dozen or so years - I routinely purge my closet so all these that I have are ‘keepers’

I have one dress that I wore to my daughter's wedding 20+ years ago. The only other time I have worn anything other than jeans or dress pants was in 2017, when I wore a navy blue floor-length skirt to my little granddaughter's funeral.

I have more dresses than I can count....a variety of styles from very casual sun dresses, dresses I wear as bathing suit coverups, sweater dresses, tailored work dresses for all seasons, fancier cocktail dresses/beaded dresses for cruises and weddings, dresses appropriate for wakes/funerals, etc. I used to work in a very corporate office job where I would wear suits for client meetings so I have at least 5 skirt suits as well. I'm pretty set for any occasion and wouldn't need to purchase appropriate clothing for an activity or event unless I randomly wanted something new. My work wardrobe now is the exact opposite so I have been paring down those work clothes, but most are pretty classic styles that are fairly timeless.

I have maybe 4 or 5 short sleeve dresses and 4 or 5 long sleeve dresses as I go to services each week. Sometimes wear for other things.

Woman. Retired.
I own maybe 30 dresses ranging from "church lady", to cruising chic, to wedding fancy and a few long sundresses. I love dresses and find them more slimming and comfortable than a skirt and top that cuts me in half visually. I do have a few suits - mostly classic ones left over from work life. Occasionally something comes up that I wear one. For every day running around I'm mostly in jeans, black pants or white pants and tops depending on the weather.

Female. I have no idea how many dresses I own, but I love dresses. In the winter, my favorite outfits are dresses, tights, and boots. So comfy! I wear dresses to work 2-3 days a week. I also have my summer work dresses, summer casual weekend dresses, funeral dresses, cocktail dresses, two gowns as I used to attend an annual gala, etc.

'Back in the day, suits every day. Now retired, one suit, one sport coat. Only wear the sport coat, rarely. And last 8 years or so of working, just a nice shirt and pants.'Dressing up' to see clients who themselves were casual made no sense.

I wear a t-shirt and yoga pants to work every day in my home office, but I love dresses and skirts.

I own a lot of them. I wear them to church and to go out, but I always take them when I go on vacation. I'm a carry on only traveler and dresses pack smaller than a full outfit with pants/blouse/sweater. They also make pictures look nicer than a t-shirt and shorts.

My wife has a closet full of various dresses and business suits, although as years have gone on, she's donated a number of the suits to various charities. She still has some of them left, but generally wears dresses or slacks when she needs to dress for business meetings. Most of her job is remote now, so she's not wearing as much business attires anymore.

Household has many of both. Need to collect them now because supply can be very spotty when needed.

Best investment is summer weight in dark colors, most versatile.
