I rarely have poll topics be about WDW, which I should change. I’m assuming Disney Parks are somewhere we all love and enjoy. I’ve never been to DL, which I hope changes in the next 10 years.
So, for today…..

Which type of WDW Resort do you currently stay at, will be staying at, or do you think you would stay at in this present time?

*If you’d like to share where and why that would be great.

For Me…..Our next trip in December 2024 we are staying at a moderate resort - Port Orleans French Quarter. The reason why is because DD20 loves Princess Tiana and has always wanted to stay there, and since this may be our last trip like this with her, we wanted to stay where she always wanted to stay. Plus, we gotta have those beignets easily accessible - LOL!

Truth be told on a few things…..our last WDW trip in June, my DD and I stayed at AllStar Movies and LOVED it. The AllStar resorts get such negative reviews and I don’t understand why - we thought it was great and the price was great. The room is small and would be tight with more than 2 people, but outside of that, we thought our room was awesome.

Another thing…we have stayed off property more than once, and that worked out well too. We always drive everywhere regardless if we stay on or off property, so Disney transportation is never something that’s important for us.

Once upon a time….we used to stay at The Poly or Contemporary only, but they are no longer in the budget, which is ok. We still visit and hang out there like we’re staying there - LOL!

ETA…..

So many great replies - thanks to everyone!

A few people were wondering why this one isn’t multiple choice. The reason is because the question is where you would stay now, where you would stay next trip or even beyond that?

The reason I asked it that way was because we stayed at The Poly, The Contemporary and The Wilderness Lodge in the past and loved them, but right now it’s not in our budget. Our resort preference has changed to meet our budget. So I’m wondering if others are the same way. Where would you stay now, today, if you decided to hop in your car and go to WDW. You can only stay in one place at a time so that’s why the poll allows only one selection 🙂👍🏼

I usually stay at Pop Century, which is a Value, thoughit's been getting more expensive. It's the best resort on property with being centrally located and having Skyliner access. It is my go-to, though I have stayed at some moderates sometimes too.

Our next trip will probably be in October 2024. It will just be dh and me because our boys run cross country and their season will still be going on. We plan to stay only 3-4 nights vs our usual 7 day trip. We plan to only go to MK and Epcot. For that reason I want to stay at the Poly.

Our last trip was March 2023, and we stayed at POFQ. We loved it. I have stayed at everything from value to moderate before. I have not been unhappy with any choice.

We’re a family of four and we happily stay at the values. :)
Pop is our usual go to, but our last stay was at Movies and we really loved it.

We‘ve stayed at moderates and deluxes several times as well, but I really can’t justify the cost anymore, especially with our exchange rate. :crazy2:

I do love staying at POFQ and the Poly though.

We're DVC, so our Disney trips are planned around using those points, and we often stay at Boardwalk, our 'home' resort, but enjoy stays at other DVC properties: especially Animal Kingdom. Have a tentative spring break trip planned for Riviera, will be the first time there.
If out of DVC points, and paying cash, we've stayed at Pop (our first on site stay in 2005 was Pop) , All Stars, or a moderate, and always had great experiences

I voted deluxe, but honestly I'm all over the place. I really prefer deluxe for the easy parks access, nice rooms, facilities, etc. But I've camped at Fort Wilderness a million times and have enjoyed value and moderate resorts too.

I don't have any Disney trips booked right now, we had a terrible visit back in 2022 and no one is willing to risk it yet. We'll see if that changes in the next few years. So Universal for now.

If it’s not DVC I stay at the POP love it - I’ve done Port Orleans and enjoyed that and have done Caribbean Beach several times - mixed results
I’ve stayed off site several times and must say I prefer onsite myself ymmv
I have a love hate relationship with Disney transportation- mostly hate ymmv 🤣🤣
I love Bay Lake as then I can walk or monorail to my two favorite Parks !!!

These days, we usually stay at All-Star Movies. We honestly don't stay in the room for much during the trip, and it fits our needs.

In the past, we have stayed at the Disney Springs area (back when it was Downtown Disney and the Wyndham was the Grosvenor). And back in the early 90s, we stayed at the Disney Village Resort before it became the Disney Institute and then the Saratoga Springs Resort.

We're DVC. Our trip in January will be Old Key West one bedroom.
Before DVC we stayed in values and moderates. Favorite was Port Orleans Riverside (Dixie Landing).

We go to Disneyland Resort on Sunday and will stay at DVC there also. Grand Californian.
The love of that place started our DVC addiction

We are strictly Villas now. Boardwalk when it’s just my wife and me and Beach Club (grandchildren love the pool!!)with the whole family.

Since first going back in 1987 we have also stayed at the FW Cabins, Caribbean Beach, Coranado Springs (least favorite Mod), Port Orleans Riverside (favorite Mod), Pop Century (was not a fan as the rooms were small and the buildings reminded us of prison cell blocks but got an opening up special of $55 per night), Poly Villas (my bucket list Hotel but was disappointed).

We always stay Value now, usually at All-Star Movies. For many trips we stayed at the Polynesian, until we realized that we were paying for amenities and scenery that we almost never took advantage of because we were always on our way to the parks. We thought we'd give Value resorts a try and in 1998 we stayed at All-Star Music and loved it. The All-Stars are fun, and really, all we need is a hot shower and a bed. The recent room refurbs are really nice, too.

I put 'Other' because my first 25 years of WDW visits involved offsite lodging. Some of that (7 years) were my Florida years. We lived about 90 minutes from WDW and would sometimes go for a day trip or get cheap lodging for overnight. We didn't start staying onsite until we began taking our kids. We mainly stuck with onsite deluxe, but we did try POR and Swan. I'd stay at the Swan again. POR, on the other hand, was not something we want to repeat. DD15 and I 'almost' stayed at All Star Sports last month, but things fell through. Ultimately, we haven't been to WDW since 2021, but we stayed at Boardwalk Villas that trip. All in all, the Contemporary and Animal Kingdom Lodge are my favorites, although, Wilderness Lodge during December was pretty and it was nice having a room overlooking the lobby.

The other part of the 'Other' is because we may be headed to California this summer. Our travel ball plans are a little bit crazy, but we're anticipating a tournament in the Anaheim area. If it all pans out, we intend to build in a couple of days at Disneyland. We haven't been since December of 2015. Last time, we stayed at the HoJo on Harbor. As much as I'd love to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, it's really tough to justify the cost when you've got so many decent/cheaper options within walking distance of the parks.
