I voted deluxe. My resort of choice is the Swan/Dolphin. Our first and only full family trip (Marie is not a Disney enthusiast) was at the Polynesian. I then stayed a few times at Port Orleans Riverside (Dixie Landings). Such a nice resort, beautiful grounds, and yes, those beignets. Then started staying at S/D (almost always the Swan). Deluxe resort at moderate prices. Walk to or boat to two parks. A pool complex among the best on property, can give SB a run for the money. I also like the relative compactness of the Swan. I have not stayed at the new Swan Reserve there yet, but that looks great also. Only issue is that I have not been there to WDW for a number of years now. :sad1:

I hate the Values, I personally find the theming incredibly tacky. I do like the Moderates. Would love to stay Deluxe in theory, but I just can't justify spending that kind of money on a room.

That said, I mostly travel with my dad, who's retired DoD. So we've done Shades of Green several times, which I really like. But mostly we stay offsite through the Armed Forced Vacation Club. It's basically leftover RCI inventory that they offer for nothing...low season, we pay between $309 and $409 per week for a 2 bed/2 bath condo. We always have a car, so getting around isn't an issue, and we have a lot of local friends and family, so it's nice to have plenty of space to host them.

Used to get an even better deal through my now ex-best friend. She works for Bluegreen Resorts, and was able to get unlimited employee stays throughout the year (except high season). $50 for a week! Wasn't worth keeping up the friendship for the perk though lol

We have stayed at the Poly, Old Key West, French Quarter, Tree House Villas, Contemporary. Multiple times at each so assorted room types and locations within those.
Our favorite by far is our own motorcoach in Fort Wilderness. There is so much to do at the Fort you don't have to leave, which was good as we no longer go to the parks. We get to live in our own "home" or as we call it our rolling condo. We have what amounts to our own yard as soon as we step out the door.
I voted won't be going back in the poll. Too many other places to visit and see, and as much as we genuinely enjoyed the Fort, it has just become too expensive for a place to park, especially since we only live 30 minutes away. Doing away with Trail's End was the final nail in the coffin for us.

For our 25th wedding anniversary we stayed at the one that the monorail goes through, for the life of me I can’t think of the name right now. We had the view of Cinderella’s castle. Contemporary! That’s it🙂. The rest of our trips we have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, we love that one. We’ve stayed in both sides, the mansions and alligator bayou. We have no plans for another Disneyworld trip though, too many perks have been taken away and the parks are just too busy anymore to really enjoy.

I'm surprised the poll only allows one choice. - We've stayed at value, moderate, and deluxe, and were happy with all of them! I don't have a trip in the actual planning stages right now, but I do expect to go back at some point. I voted deluxe because Wilderness Lodge is still on my "I'd like to try..." list.

DVC member, so those are always my preference. But if the trip calls for it, I will do a split stay with a value or moderate. I wouldn't pay cash for a deluxe room at this point.

Edit: My next trip actually starts tonight! I don't land until 9 pm, so 1 nights in AS Movies then 4 in a Copper Creek 1br.

DVC also, so always stay in one. My next trip is in Jan. 3 nights in a 1BDRM OKW and then 3 nights 1BDRM AKL Jambo House followed by 1 night in a 1BDRM Club Level, next 3 nights in a 1 BDRM BRV. I usually do split stays like this. I don't mind moving around too much.

We ARE NOT DVC, however we almost always rent points and rent studios or 1 bedrooms. We are at OKW this coming January....we are more a 1-6 months in advance planners due to various reasons so sometimes we can't get into our preferred resorts when we wait till the last minute but we've managed to stay at all but two of the DVC resorts.
If we can't get into a DVC property our go-to is POR (Dixie Landings honeymoon club members ::yes:: )

I am not a big help for your poll. I checked Other because I like all levels of accommodation. I am just as happy at All Star as I am at the Beach Club or Contemporary. Each resort has its pros and cons and you have to select the one which will enhance your trip the most, and fits within your budget at the time. If I am doing a park intensive trip, I won’t be at the resort much, so a value is a better fit than, say, WL, where I will be tempted to spend time just hanging out in the lobby enjoying the ambiance. If it’s winter, the great pool at YC/BC won’t be calling my name like it would in summer.

Next trip is DVC. Just had my waitlist for Beach Club come in yesterday. :yay:
I don't discriminate. I have a favorite in each category so it just depends what's the focus on the trip is and how many I expect that year. Values - I love Sports. I don't understand the hate with the bus. I can't stand the buses for Pop so if I don't have to stay there I try not to. Moderate - Love Coronado. If it's not a budget cash trip I try to stay there as much as possible.

I usually stay at Pop Century, which is a Value, thoughit's been getting more expensive. It's the best resort on property with being centrally located and having Skyliner access. It is my go-to, though I have stayed at some moderates sometimes too.
Same here, Pop is our regular resort. Haven't been since 2021 (Pop) and no current plans in the works, but would likely pick Pop again. We don't spend much time at the resort, so it makes no sense to pay more for Mod or Deluxe (especially at the current prices).

We haven’t been back in years and have stayed at Wilderness Lodge twice and Port Orleans Riverside once. I love Wilderness Lodge and it’s our favorite resort, but no longer affordable to us. If we go back, I want to look into a resort with skyliner access.

We have DVC so usually stay there and will book studio, one bedroom or two bedroom depending on the trip and who is with us.

I would try anything though. Stayed at the Caribbean Beach many years ago (25+) and it was fine. Would be better now with the Skyliner.

Exactly. I don't spend a ton of time at the resorts either, so Pop or even All-Stars work for me. If I do want to absorb some ambiance, I just plan a dinner at one of the nicer resorts and check them out a little.

DVC here. About 15 years ago, we were at POP and DH said, I'd like a real chair to sit in while in the room, not the plastic slip and slide chairs. So we looked at DVC. Plus, we were pass college and wedding bills with our kids, so we needed something to throw money at........

BUT not sure if we will get back to disney (health issues) , but when the kids go, they will stay at villas.

We stayed at the Grand Floridian for our only trip to WDW, and I was surprised that there was no walking path to the Magic Kingdom. Our last day we went to the MK and had to get back to the GF to catch our bus to the airport. The monorail broke down, and we were concerned we would miss our bus and our flight. Disney did a great job putting more and bigger boats into service to get folks to the GF, and we made it. But I see why Disney did finally put in a walkin route to the MK from the GF.
But, we are Disneyland fans, so we won't be going back to WDW. Just isn't the Disney we grew up with.
