After yesterday’s exciting poll, today’s topic is going to seem quite boring - LOL! What inspired this poll was me making this the other night IMG_2862.jpegand you would have thought that I put dog food on the table by my DH’s reaction. Now….i do know he’s not a fan of hot cauliflower, but I thought if it was flavored an air fryed he might enjoy it and the answer to that is….nope :sad2: He did try 3 bites like his mom used to make him do as a child, but they were tiny bites :rolleyes2 (it was funny to watch) and needless to say, I’m never making that again :sad2::rolleyes2:lmao:He does like cold cauliflower and will eat a lot of that, so this got me thinking how you all feel about this. First….lets learn something about the topic…..

I found all that pretty interesting and I honestly didn’t know, until I was making this poll, that cauliflower is part of the cabbage family. How could I not know this at 54 years old? I always enjoy learning something new every day. So now it’s time for you to tell us how you feel about hot and cold cauliflower. Enquirering minds want to know how you feel about this…..

What is your opinion of hot cauliflower?
What is your opinion of cold cauliflower?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I like hot cauliflower and I find cold cauliflower edible (I find it bland and boring). Technically, I’m not supposed to eat cauliflower until it’s cooked to death because my UC. That air fryer cauliflower was good, but I ate very little because it was still crunchy. I need it to be really soft with all the nutrients probably cooked out of it for me to digest it well. Since DH has such strong feelings about hot cauliflower, it’s not part of any dinner plans :sad2:

I enjoy cauliflower however it's prepared. We often roast it with turmeric or smoked paprika, drizzled with olive oil. I also like it boiled (almost to death, @slo, so you could have it too), mashed up with butter. Trader Joe's has a frozen cauliflower that has some diced/minced veggies added (I add more) that is a pretty decent side dish, too.

I don't mind it raw but find that it leaves little grubbly chunks that are hard to get out of my teeth (I know, TMI); I have to brush/rinse thoroughly to get the cauliflower out of my mouth after eating it raw.

I prefer it hot but I will need it cold but if you’re cooking it hard you’re cooking it outside I don’t want the smell of it in my house so off to the grill you go to cook it because you’re not cooking it inside my house but I will eat it I like it a lot I just don’t wanna smell it

That's how I feel when DH cooks his brussel sprouts. :crazy2:

I like it cooked with melted cheese on top.
Me too but with one variation: Just the melted cheese please ;) I enjoy a variety of foods, several of which would be described as an acquired taste. With cauliflower...I can't even. If it's on a party tray, I can eat a bit with dip as long as I can chase it with a carrot or some celery, but I'd rather not.

I like it both ways. I rarely cook it at home though, but will sometimes order it in a restaurant as a side dish. I like it raw served on a vegetable tray, with dip.

I like it either way and have found any number of uses. Raw...it's great for dipping in hummus or combining with broccoli, red cabbage, carrots and cottage cheese. I used to love it au gratin but I've given up most true cheese. So, other things like lightly breaded and air fried or in tater tot form is nice. I also recently had it mixed in with quinoa in riced form...which was excellent.
