slo’s THURSDAY poll - Gas Station or 7-Eleven Slushies

Once in a while get from 7-11 either the Coke or Mountain Dew just 1 never mix.

I haven't bought one in years, but slushies were one of my favorite treats as a kid. I never mixed flavors as a kid (I don't think it was an option for me then). My go-to flavor was always cherry. I didn't like the cola flavored at all. My children also loved gas station slushies as kids and always mixed flavors.

Haven’t had one in years. Last time I did it was banana from the gas station. No mixing.

I haven't paid attention, but all the self service stuff was shut down over a year ago. No sure if it's back or not.
I buy my Slushies at the local coffee shop.

I have been on a eating healthier kick for the past couple years so I no longer partake of such tasty treats, so I voted other. I remember back in the day there was a local gas station that had some kind of Mtn Dew slushie. They were great!

I try to drink one on every stop... on the bicycle. I can't tolerate heat very well, I've had heat exhaustion many many times and assuming heat stroke once (should probably have been hauled off in an ambulance, but no one bothered me passed out sprawled out at a Dairy Queen table with an ice cream cone melted on the table.) I guzzle them down to get as much ice in my gut as possible to cool my core down when out on a bicycle tour. Pretty sure I burn off the calories and don't worry about them being unhealthy.

My slushies come from booths at F&W in Epcot I avoid entering convenience stores except on the rare road trip when we stop for bathroom breaks.

You did it to me, Sandy. Very hot today, as you know. I was out doing errands and pulled into a McD's for a cup of coffee. When I pull in, they had signs for some new (I guess) slushies. So, I got strawberry/watermelon slushie. I never would have ordered that except this thread was tucked away in my head. Never even knew they had slushies.

And, the slushie was excellent, very refreshing.

They're new, and that's the same one I tried! It was delicious!!

To avoid the guilt of drinking all that sugar at once, I made a couple of popsicles with part of mine. It worked well.

We just got some at 7-11 yesterday but usually we get it a the gas station. We usually only get them when on vacation and travelling by car. I tend to mix them. When I was pregnant with my eldest during a heat wave summer I craved them.

They always taste best when it’s really hot out.
