We're a bleu cheese family, but I have some original ranch around just for the occasional something different. I buy the Marzetti brand, tastes better than the stuff from the plastic bottles.

Never been a big ranch person, but we usually keep a bottle of plain ranch in the fridge.

We usually do not keep it in the house I am the only one who can have it so usually get when we carry in or eat out and it is mostly original. Maybe one time has avocado ranch.

I only bought the original when daughter was in school for dipping veggies. She's off to college tomorrow. My husband won't eat any type of ranch.

I make the original ranch dressing with buttermilk from the seasoning packet. I use the powdered packet, mayonnaise and buttermilk to make the dressing. It is much better tasting than any bottled ranch dressing, imo. My son told me that probably less than 1% of the population makes it this way anymore. ;)

Original only for me. I use it on salads and any flavor of chicken wings. My two grandaughters use it on chicken fingers.

Not sure which I use because I thought the original was "Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch". I voted original and buttermilk. Must be popular as some restaurants charge extra for it, while other dressings are free.

We rarely use ranch dressing. There was a Buffalo Ranch Dressing that was pretty good, but I can't find it in stores now. There are so many other dressings that we enjoy more. He's from the midwest; I'm from the south and we live in the south.

In May, we stopped in Pigeon Forge, TN at an Italian restaurant that we love. I ordered a salad with the house Italian dressing, which is delicious and made in house. The waitress brought my salad swimming in ranch dressing because, "You just look like a ranch dressing person, so I changed your order." :headache:

I'd point out that buttermilk is by default an ingredient in ranch dressing. I've asked for it at one fast food place, and I got this:

In any case, the original ranch dressing came from an actual dude ranch called Hidden Valley Ranch near Santa Barbara, which apparently is now defunct. But not before they closed, they sold their recipe and trademark to Clorox, which still owns the brand. It doesn't say it on the label, but 1221 Broadway is Clorox.

However, my preference is for the Hidden Valley Ranch packets that contain dried buttermilk for mixing with half mayo and half milk. I think the same also comes in jars for mostly restaurant use. That is considerably better than any bottled ranch dressing I've ever tried.

I've only tried original and buttermilk. But I assume I would enjoy bacon, garlic, parm/cheese as well. Cucumber would be okay. Spicy or Avocado would be a no for me.

Do not like ranch dressing! DH and DS do, we have Hidden Valley Light in the fridge. i only use vinaigrette type dressings, probably part of my dislike of mayonnaise! (Just seems too similar to mayo to me)

Please tell me you sent that right back and got what you requested. That's so crazy! I realize in the grand scheme of things this isn't that serious but I would have been furious!

I'm intrigued as to what a "ranch dressing person" looks like? :rotfl2:

Oh man. I really like the Marzetti ranch but always forget about it when I’m at the store. I should stock up one of these days.

I am a big fan of ranch dressing. I like just the regular original type. I also like the chipoltle, southwestern, or whatever it is they bottle it as in various stores. I also like buffalo ranch.
