Are you making an Easter basket for anyone this year?

For Me……This is the first year in 25 years that I’m not making an Easter basket. This Easter is just not the same with DD19 not here - no decorations, no basket, no coloring Easter eggs, no going to Mass with her and not hosting Easter dinner because all the parents want to do brunch instead - I don’t like it :sad2::sad:

Seeing the chocolate bunny with the bite out of the ears kinda makes me want to go buy one - I’ll say it’s a therapeutic chocolate bunny to make me feel better :rotfl:

have'nt made one in years but their memories linger on in my linen closet-my kids never got easter grass in theirs b/c i hate the stuff so each year their baskets were lined with pillow cases of whatever cartoon they were in to. it's like a trip down memory lane seeing rugrats, powder puff girls, pokemon, yugioh and so many others sitting on the shelf.

the last time we had a chocolate bunny my oldest took the cheese grater to it and used the bottom portion to make cookies-forever immortalized in our personal vocabulary as 'bunny butt cookies' :rotfl2:

I did treat myself to exactly 1 Cadbury egg yesterday. I did a Walmart pick up order and when I was unloading and gathering the empty bags, I found it buried in its own bag.

I had my own little impromptu hunt:)

I ordered a basket, Easter grass, some candy and fun stuff and had it sent to my daughter at college. A sort of do-it-yourself Easter basket 😀. For my son at home, I’ll make up a little basket. He doesn’t eat too much candy, but he won’t turn down Reese’s Easter eggs. 🍫 🪺

No baskets here, haven't done them in I don't know how many years. I guess since the kids were younger. I did pick up a Cadbury egg for my husband as week or so ago - it's long gone now:-).

Definitely get yourself a bunny, or better yet, let your DH know how much this means to you and have him put together a little basket for you. :flower3: Seasons of life change and our hearts often register it as a loss of the parts we loved. Perfectly normal. But also a chance to shift your focus onto other things and recognize the new potential. I sure know what it’s like to pour out lament on “if only things would go back to normal, then I’ll be happy again.” Alas, the hands of time just never seem to turn in that direction.

Maybe fancy Easter brunch will become your new favourite thing! Maybe there’s people you know that would love to be invited to your home to celebrate with a feast. Maybe there’s a kid or two in your circle who doesn’t have much and would be thrilled to receive a little basket of goodies. Maybe the day becomes a special time for just you and your DH to share and focus on really ministering to and blessing each other in the heartache of this transition.

Whatever you end up doing, I know Resurrection morning will bring you a renewed sense of new life and hope for the good future that’s before you, even as the former things must pass away. Grace and peace. :flower3:

Haven’t done baskets in at least 15 years. The last Easter basket/egg hunt was when my daughters were in middle school or early high school. I gave them a choice that year. Basket or egg hunt. They choose egg hunt.

Always make my husband and I one. We love chocolate.

My daughter will be home the next weekend to get her snow tires off . Got her favourite giant Kinder egg and Cadbury mini eggs. Had to replace them once already….chocolate isn’t safe in this house…lol

We used to always do one, even when our kids got older, but I don't think we'll be doing them this year.
