🍁🦃 HAPPY THANKSGIVING 🦃🍁
I hope all of you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving 🧡💛

What is your Thanksgiving activity?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..Every year my DD20 and I go our town’s Starbucks for our Thanksgiving treat. I started this when it opened 10/11 years ago, because it was a treat then - my girls were always so excited to go to Starbucks. Now my DD goes all the time, so it’s not a special treat, but it’s important to us to keep the tradition, so we continue to go. It’s the only time of year that I get a pumpkin Frappuccino, so it really is still a treat for me :goodvibes

In the past I used to do a 5k on Thanksgiving morning, and I thought about signing my DD and I up for this year, but I decided against it. I wanted her to sleep in today - as a college athlete she gets up super early at school all the time - she needs her breaks at home to allow her to be free of the alarm clock.

We always have our family to our house, so that’s a yearly Thanksgiving activity too - they will be here by 1:00pm. I didn’t add this option to the poll - I really wish I had more than 10 choices.

We always watch a movie Thanksgiving night - normally it’s The Santa Clause, but tonight it’ll be Christmas Vacation. My DD leaves tomorrow and I let her choose the movie for tonight.

Just me, my husband and daughter going to a restaurant for dinner. I don't feel excited about it. Curse of being an only child I guess. Extended family do their own thing; my parents are in Florida. So I'll do a late lunch for Thanksgiving then probably come home, take the dogs out for a nice walk, and watch TV.

My daughter and I will cook a full spread… turkey, stuffing, the works for the two of us. Lots of leftovers LOL

Cherish your loved ones… except for my dear sister who is a 6 hour drive away, everyone else has passed on. She’ll probably go to the cemetery and I’ll be talking to her later.

When you are in the moment, you really don’t realize how quickly time passes. Lots of wonderful memories. DD and I work on making new ones, though!

Marie and I are going to Vince's later today. Natalie and her two will be there also, so all five grandkids. Always a nice day. Hope you have a great visit to Starbucks with Katie, Sandy, and then a good day with family. Happy Thanksgiving.

Our tradition is a meal with family and friends. Sometimes we travel, sometimes we stay at home. This year we are going to my mother in laws, a 10 minute drive away. I’m grateful for an easier Thanksgiving this year. It’s a small group, and we’ll be sharing the table with family and a couple near and dear to our heart.

Kids are most excited to watch the Macy’s parade. We’ve got it recording and will cue it up soon. I’m most excited for dessert!

I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! I am feeling very grateful for you all in this Dis board community. I joined about a year ago, and you all have been so kind and welcoming. Sandy, I enjoy your polls and posts. Thank you for taking the time to make them.

Normally we go to MIL's, but we're all under the weather this year, so we're staying home. (Someone will run us over a Tupperware feast later.)

It's a Hallmark movie marathon for me and lots of video game time for DH and DS. DS and I will probably take a walk as well, as it's beautifully sunny here, and fresh air is good!

Cherish your loved ones…
So true! My Dad passed away three days after Thanksgiving in 1987. Some of my last memories of him are enjoying the day with him.

I chose Other. It's only the five of us this year. We'll all sit at the kitchen table, peeling potatoes and yams, talking and laughing over old times. We'll all enjoy my Godson, and make new, good memories.

Most of our traditions have fallen by the wayside as the kids have grown and are no longer interested. Used to be I’d made a special breakfast and we’d eat it while watching the Macy’s Parade. The. Like @slo we’d go to Starbucks on our way to my parents house.

This year, as I’ve mentioned on other threads, I am celebrating by myself. I will watch the Scream movies all day. This was intended to be for Halloween but was only able to get them from the library last week.

This morning we are cooking and watching the Macy's parade (boy, they're having trouble keeping the balloons fully inflated).

Later we'll go to my in-law's for dinner... and it's tradition to do a Wii bowling tournament after dinner. I think that's been going on for at least 15 years.
