Do you have a gazing ball in your yard?
If yes, what does it look like?
(multiple choice for those who have more than one)
For Me…..I love gazing balls
I used to have 2, but one broke due to a raccoon party on my front porch and they knocked it down
.
The current one I have is very cool - it’s a swirl of green and blue and the continents are faintly on it, so it’s supposed to be earth. The stand is a tall box tower with stars cut out of it. DH put white Christmas lights in the gazing ball and in the stand so at night it lights up - so cool! I made sure this is in a place that the raccoons can‘t get to it.
I’m now thinking about getting another one, because I love them so much, but I have to find the perfect one for where it’s going. It’s a long story, but let me say that I have a very shiny silver concrete donkey pulling a cart from my mother’s old house. This “Shiny ***” as we call it is a family joke and treasure, because it was ugly when my mom originally bought it and we laughed about it when she brought it home (she doesn’t even know why she bought it) and then when it faded she thought she was painting it grey and she actually painted it shiny silver - we all laughed so hard when she did this. When she downsized her house I took the ”Shiny ***” to my backyard where it has the perfect spot. I’m doing some landscaping around this and the gazing ball would go in this area. This goofy “Shiny ***” is my most favorite thing in the backyard - makes me smile every time I look at - good memories!

For those that don’t know what a gazing ball is….(this is not mine - it’s still in storage for the winter)
