Are you hosting or attending a Labor Day cookout?

*One of the OTHERS is supposed to say “No Labor Day cookout for us this year” . Please click other for this answer.

For Me….No group cookout for us today (we’ve never given or gone to a Labor Day cookout).
For the last several years DD19 had a softball tournament this weekend, so we were always at that.
We will be grilling out today for just us though :goodvibes

Going to try and grill for us between all the rain ! Never gone to one but have had people over several times in past years - all family and close friends
I hope everyone enjoys their day !!

Never heard of a LD cookout. Usually last summer weekend and people are at the lake not at home

Actually cookout is not a common term here. We would use BBQ.

ETA - there are a couple big CFL rivalries games held this weekend. Parties around those.

We always have one.
It is just the little family of 7.....this year 5 of us.
DH, me, DD, DGD and DGS.....DS and DIL are on a cruise

We're in an extreme heat warning for the next several days. This time of year that means 105 or more. 107 expected today

Labor Day parties/cookouts/bbq’s were common ways to end the summer (similar to Memorial Day ones starting the summer). Especially in the shore areas.

This year just staying home and just immediate family. I may grill here depending on the weather.

Other: We got takeout barbecue and are having DD & DGDs over later. Very informal, "hosting" would be kind of a strong word for what we're doing. It's more like "All the stuff is on the island in the kitchen, help yourself."

No bbq for us either, not big in either one of our families.

We do bbq for ourselves for dinner sometimes…lol

None for us today. It is supposed to rain most of the day here today. I am taking middle DD back to college after being home for the weekend. I have a 6 hour round trip drive with rain most of the trip.

I voted 'other'. My brother and daughter have Sept 4 birthdays. When DD was little, we always hosted a joint birthday cookout on Labor Day. Now that she's grown, the Labor Day cookouts have stopped and we do what she wants - dinner at my house, dinner at her house, babysit so she and her DH can go out, lol!

DH is working so DD and I are just hanging out. DH's birthday was yesterday so ordering Chinese takeout as a belated celebration (don't ask lol). Finding an open Chinese restaurant on a Monday is a whole other story...

No Labour Day BBQ for us either this year and if there had been a gathering, it probably would have been yesterday. We had out-of-town guests this weekend and spent it doing local activities (as we usually do with company). They're leaving soon and I'll be using the rest of the day to catch up on my normal weekend chores and get started on an assignment for tomorrow - the short work week is no blessing when there's always still 5 days worth of tasks to plow through. :teeth: DH will probably tune into the Battle of Alberta (Stamps v.s. Elks) this afternoon. Since we ate so much over the past few days, supper will probably be scrounge - I think I'll have cereal. ;)

No cookout for us today, but we have hosted and gone to them in the past.

We grilled burgers with my in-laws on Saturday and my brother-in-law smoked pork yesterday for my side of the family. Today, we don't have any plans to grill out, but that's probably good because it's pouring and is expected tor rain all day (boo).
