What’s your opinion of picnics?
When was the last time you’ve gone on a picnic?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I’m not a picnic person. The last time I went on an organized picnic lunch was years ago when my girls were little. I used to enjoy finding nice parks for them to play and I’d always have a picnic for us too. I have good memories of doing this with my girls, but what I didn‘t enjoy is the fly’s and bees all over the place - this would make the girls freak out.

Since then, we’ve had tons of lunches and dinners outside between softball games, but I don’t consider that a picnic lunch - it’s just lunch or dinner that we’re eating outside. Now that DD20 is playing softball in college, we aren‘t eating outside as much. I do take lunch for between games for DH and I, but since her season starts in February and it’s so cold, we eat in the car.

My husband's side of the family used to have an annual summer picnic that was just about the only picnic we would go to. That stopped a few years ago. Then Covid restrictions hit, and we started doing picnics as a way to get out of the house. One of our picnics was outside of the Chicago Shedd Aquarium. It was one of the first places to reopen during Covid and we ate outside before going into the aquarium. :)

I haven't done a picnic in years except I did take sandwiches when we went on our trip last week and we ate those on our balcony when we first got there.

Picnics are OK... I think the last time I went on one was during Covid times. I guess it qualifies as a picnic if you get takeout and eat at a park.

I guess I am lazy, but I don't like the idea of having to pack up a bunch of stuff to take somewhere to eat and then clean up and put away the supplies later.

I like picnics. The last one I went to was in June, and it was a birthday party for a 4-year-old at a park.

Not a picnic person. The ground and bugs … I’m out!

I like dining outside at home or a restaurant. I’m foo-foo, I know. I know.

Can’t remember ever really having one. We do sometimes eat outside at our cottage. Does that count? Wehave a picnic table and a bbq .

We'll bring food and eat a 'picnic' lunch when we're on a day trip, or on a multi-day road trip through a lot of National Park / National Forest type areas. Things like rolls, deli meat & cheese, hummus, fruit, pretzels, veggies. Sometimes there's not even a table to eat at, and we eat standing around the car. Or sitting in the car if it's rainy. I like it because it's quick and easy and it means we're on an adventure.

As far as organized picnic where people go to a park and grill or something, we'll go to one of those every year or two with groups we're a part of, but it's not something I organize. I just show up with my 1-2 potluck items to share.

I like picnics. We used to have picnics in our parks a lot in the past, but not so much now. Homeless people camp out in our parks and will approach folks, asking for food or money, and can be aggressive if they do not get what they ask for.

I'm ambivalent to picnics, my kids love them. The worst are beach picnics. It took me a few times to realize I needed to pack each item in individual servings or sand will get everywhere.

They're okay.
I haven't been to one in many years.
I don't like bugs and not an outdoor person.
We do pack a lunch and eat it in the car when we are traveling.....that's the extent

Last real picnic I can recall was when Vince and Natalie were kids, and they're in their 40's now. My main recollectio, bees.

Along those lines, sort of, we went to a good friend's son's birthday party yesterday. Beautiful day. Party was held in the garage, driveway and backyard. My main recollection from yesterday, bees.

Can't remember the last time I went on a picnic. They're fine. Can be cute! But I feel like they're usually a lot of work.

The last time I was on a picnic was decades ago. We went with my dad's Mummer's club to a picnic outing at FDR Park in South Philly (known as The Lakes.) I was very young, so I don't remember if I liked it or not.

Do they still have the annual Mummer's parade, BSH? I remember when I was a kid, watching the parade on TV every year. The fancy costumes, vehicles, neat, fun music. It was like a circus, Mardi Gras and New Year's Eve, all in one.

:goodvibes I like picnics and it’s a very nice way to do a casual, potluck style get together. This summer has flown by without one for us, even though we’ve talked about doing it with several people. The weather is still lovely though so maybe it’s not too late!

Think they are just OK now. I used to love them actually and with our boys we would often take lunch to a park set up a table and let them play and eventually we would eat lunch.

Now, I can’t remember the last time I have been on a picnic like that.

However, my sister has a deck, and we very often bring our food and she puts out the food that she has made and we eat on her deck. I don’t consider that a picnic because we don’t get in a car. During the summer we do that at least once every two weeks.

Yes, they do! My Dad was in the Fancy Brigades, The Downtowners New Year's Brigade. I still have a bunch of cousins who perform with them.

We do a few a year. When my kids were little and we were broke, we had picnics all the time...cheap, easy, always felt like an adventure. Our favorite was always going the airport and having one. We could either go to the top of the hill at the Vet cemetery and have one (looked over the runway), or a few years ago, they built a picnic area in between a few runways at MSP and we would go there. Hell, we still do, even if the kids don't want to go with.
