With so many of our kids going to college for the first time or returning back to college, it makes me wonder how many of us have a college degree.

So….do you or don’t you? And what‘s the highest degree you have?

For Me…..I have a bachelor’s degree and my major was Marketing.

*Inspiration for today’s poll is me just seeing so many posts on Facebook of my friends that have kids that graduated with DD19 this year, moving into their dorm for the first time yesterday.

We don’t have an associate’s degree here. You can get a diploma or a certificate from a community college. They tend to be in the trades more than anything.

I have both a diploma and a Bachelor’s degree.

Assoc Degree in Accounting - long story - short version - became homeless because of selfish father so couldn’t afford to finish college - never bothered by time I could had kids and schedule would not allow - feel like at my age why bother as I won’t be working that much longer
Insisted my kids get 4 year degree - or go to trade school - one did 4 yr one did assoc degree and trade school then 4 yrs later changed trades to a MUCH better trade. You can’t get a decent job around here without a 4 yr degree and if you do you will not advance

I have five master’s degrees. One was completed as a full-time student, and the others were a combination of distance learning and seminars completed while working full-time. Two of the degrees were awarded as part of my Professional Military Education while serving in the Air Force Reserve. Studying and learning were like a hobby for me. I didn’t have a TV for many years, so what else was I going to do!

I do not have a college degree. I wanted to go to college but there was no money and my mother discouraged from going.

BA in social science

DH has a BS in electrical engineering

DS has a BS in computer engineering

DD has a BA in general science and a masters in teaching

DIL has a BA in political science and a JD

MA in mathematics education. First in my family to go to college!

I have two Master's Degrees in my field. Thought about doing a Doctorate, but my company would not help to pay for it.

I have two BA's. Journalism and History. Of course I don't work in either field.

I started a Master's program in History but quit to start a family. I wasn't going to do anything with the degree, it was just something to keep me occupied in the evenings while DH was finishing his BS in Computer Science.

Associates degree - business admin was my major.

I need about 12 classes for my bachelor's.

Was married and taking night classes, then had 2 kids and was working 50-60 hours a week.

Pregnant with son #3 and decided working part time was better for my family. Stopped attending college.

Considered going back to complete the degree, but now dh and are I about 12 years from retirement. So probably won't.

Shifted course to our 4 kids and their completing degrees.

Dh has his MBA

Son 1 Master's in Accounting and CPA

Son #2 doctorate in pharmacy

Son #3 biochemistry degree. Hoping to get in med school.

Daughter-college junior studying biology.

BS in Industrial Design.
We move my daughter into her first dorm today for her freshman year of college... and move my son into his apartment for his senior year of college tomorrow. T-minus 36 hours until we're empty nesters and I'm not quite sure how I feel about that.

BS in Accountancy and an MBA
Wife has a BS in Accountancy (we met in Accounting 201 in college) and is a practicing CPA

Older son has three semesters left on his BS in Mechanical Engineering (he's on a full time co-op this summer/fall).

I have a BS in Actuarial Science. Never seriously pursued becoming an actuary. With the benefit of hindsight, it was one of the worst decisions of my life.

I rather enjoy taking classes in subjects that interest me. I am getting to the age now when I can start taking college classes for free at some locations. You don't get credit, but who cares. I do lots of online classes for free (Massive Open Online Courses). Currently doing one on the Book of Kells.

Yes, me too. I took my degree part time as an adult, accumulating credits which qualified for transfer, from a few different institutions . B.Comm in Economics. Along the way I accumulated enough credits from one college to qualify for its Diploma in Business Administration.

That sounds interesting! That's what I like - continuing education/courses for the sake of enjoying the subject.
