Putting on sunscreen is like flossing your teeth. We all know we should do it, but when it comes to actually doing it, we can be a little negligent about it. So, be honest this morning……

On a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the least disciplined, how disciplined are you with wearing sunscreen?
If you wear sunscreen…,do you use lotion or a spray?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..I would say I’m a 4. I’m a definite five when it comes to my face - I always put on face sunscreen if I know I’m going to be outside a lot. I put on my moisturizer, then sunscreen and then my makeup. I gave myself a 4 because I’m not as disciplined with the rest of my body. I have a great greaseless sunscreen that I do use a lot, but then there are times like Saturday that I didn’t wear it when I trimmed some bushes and got some sunburn on my shoulders. I’m kicking myself for it too - I should have taken a few minutes to put on the sunscreen, but I was in a hurry and didn’t do it. The majority of the sunscreen I wear is lotion. The only time I use spray is when I put sunscreen on my back when I’m going in the pool.

I gave myself a 3. I should be better, but I'm still working on it. I usually use cream on my face and spray on my arms and legs.

I also gave myself a 3. My makeup has sunscreen, so that’s a given on most days. But, I need to do better about putting it on my arms. I prefer lotions, but will use a spray if it’s all I have or I’m in a hurry. My car has a black interior and sunscreen makes oily or white marks that are hard to remove! If anyone knows of a good brand that won’t do that, I’m all ears! :earsgirl:

This is what I use and it’s great!
I bought this for WDW last year and it was perfect - I didn’t feel slimy and it didn’t make my clothes feel like they were sticking to me - it give it to very enthusiastic 👍🏻👍🏻. It is a little more expensive, but worth it.

I had to be honest and give myself a two. I spray some on my arms and legs when I go out. Sometimes. Not as much as I should. I loathe any kind of lotion feel on my body, and a spray isn't much better feeling to me.

not good....I rarely go out for any time in the sun.
My face foundation has an SPF in it. That is about all I normally use.
If we are cruising and outside for a long time, I might use it on my arms and legs.
I prefer cream, but DH likes spray, so that is what is usually packed.
I do not burn easily.

I'm very good when I'm going to be outside for quite a while. But at least once a year I get burned. This year that happened on Saturday. Took the 8 year old to the water park, trusted him to spray my back and the shoulder I can't reach. I'm burned on my upper back and the shoulder I can't reach.

How funny I was just buying sunscreen yesterday
The only time I use it is when I’m at the beach if I’m home I do not use it ever if I’m working outside I do not put on sunscreen would that being said - I rarely burn because of my genetics I tan really well although that’s not good for my skin I just don’t worry about getting a sunburn I’m going to be at the beach and I haven’t gotten a suntan yet then I will use a sunscreen but if I’m already tanned then I won’t use one because I don’t have to worry about getting burned
When I do use one I use a lotion and I use one type for my body and a different one for my face One specifically made for your face which is a higher factor Then the one I buy for my body which I usually buy either a 15 and if I can’t find that then I get a 30 Actually seen an eight yesterday in the store I haven’t seen one of those that low in years I didn’t even know they still made them that low It’s like why bother with sunscreen at all??
If I’m walking around DISNEY I don’t use sunscreen so for me it’s just either a pool day it DISNEY or at the beach then I will break out the sunscreen but I am really good about reapplying I will do it at least once if I’m there all day And so far that’s worked really well for me except for the one year my sunscreen was expired and I didn’t know it I didn’t have a tan in for some freaky reason I actually got a sunburn which again I don’t normally do lucky for me it was only a couple spots And that was probably 10 years ago

My foundation has SPF. If I’m going to be outside for more than 15 minutes or so I’ll spray sunscreen on my arms, legs, back of neck, etc.

I get sunburned in the shade, so I always use sunscreen! I've have quite a few bad sunburns in my lifetime and I do not want to get skin cancer!

For the longest time, I had a problem with sunscreen on my face. Whenever I'd apply it, my face would burn mercilessly.

I have tried so many different brands and some are better than others for my face. THEN, I found reef safe sunscreen last year! It's a game changer! My face doesn't burn when I use it. It is safe for reefs AND my face!

I'm mentioning this because I've heard of others with the same issue and I wanted to share what worked for me. It just took me around 40-45 years to figure it out.

I put 50/50 cause I can be good and bad about it. I did yard work for about 40 mts yesterday and put nothing on. I have a week at the beach coming up and I’ll constantly have it on. I should be better since I’ve had some skin cancer. I have drilled it into my adult kids and they are very good about putting it on.

I haven't had a sunburn in decades, and I worked graveyard shift for 25 years and slept during daylight hours yet I had skin cancer on my temple in 2020. How does that happen? Never use less than SPF 50.

This is what I use and it’s great!
I use the same sunscreen every day under my makeup. I have had lots of problems with skin damage, including basal and squamous cell carcinoma. The one doctor appointment that I keep every year is the dermatologist. But I don't use sunscreen anywhere else unless I am going to be outside a lot, like WDW.

I have what I call "burn, freckle, peel" skin that doesn't tan very well.

I'm probably a 4 (maybe 3). We're in the sun a lot during the summer months, so I've become pretty good about sunscreen. I'll use spray for arms, legs and back and lotion for my face, neck and other areas that I tend to burn the most, like my upper legs and chest. We have that Nutrogena lotion for our face as well.

I'm seldom outdoors more than a few minutes at a time, so don't usually apply sunscreen. At WDW, I'm all the way to a 5. I use lotion and the Sheer/dry stuff posted upthread is absolutely the best.

With my fair skin, I am diligent about sunscreen when I leave the house. Lotion always, I think sprays are wasteful.

I also have invested in lightweight sun blocking clothes so I can use less on my shoulders and arms.i always wear a swim shirt in the pool, I usually wear a sun hat too!
