Like most of his music and he has had a long career with hit records in several decades. However, I won't pay hundreds of dollars to see any live performance when they likely already have far more money then they could ever spend in their lifetime. Don't think any musician is worth that kind of money to see in concert.
Big, big fan. He was a HUGE part of my childhood and subsequently a huge part of my kids childhood. Ask either of my 17 year olds or my 26 year old what their favorite album is and all will say hands down, Madman Across the Water. He is part of the soundtrack of our lives. Not so much a fan of his more pop like stuff (Philadelphia Freedom, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart) but Madman Across the Water, Tumbleweed Connection, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy still get regular play in my house.
I’ve seen him twice. My first concert ever at 14 with my dad at the Aladdin in the orchestra pit. Came out dressed as Donald Duck, played the piano with his feet, broke two piano benches and several flamboyant outfit changes. Every concert thereafter had to live up to THAT. Second time was 30+ years later at Caesar’s, a birthday present from my older DD. It was a full circle moment getting to experience him with her. I was worried it was going to be a “Vegas Show” but when he came out in a pink rhinestone cape and feather boa I knew we were in for a good time. Still high energy and an amazing performance. I regret never seeing him with Billy Joel when I had the chance.
I enjoy his music, but have never been to any of his concerts. There are many musicians whose work I like, but to me sometimes the label "fan" can also be having an unhealthy obsession with someone, so not sure I would go that far.
I like him, never been to one of his concerts. We had the 8-track (really dating myself here) of his greatest hits, and my Dad played it all the time. When I was a kid Bennie and the Jets was one of my favorite songs.
Big fan since the 70’s. I’ve seen him live in concert four times over the years, including once with Billy Joel. IMO, he is one the the most talented musicians and songwriters (along with Bernie Taupin) of our time.
I’ve also seen three Broadway shows that he wrote the music for: Lion King, Aida, and Billy Elliot.
I have never seen him in concert, but I DO like most of his music. I don't really listen to him a lot, but I enjoy it when it is on. I think he IS very talented and a great musician. I saw the movie about him, I really enjoyed that as well.
