Do you have a The Clapper?
Have you ever had a The Clapper?
If yes, what‘s your opinion about it?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..We have our 4th one in our bedroom and we love it!
As soon as it dies, I’m immediately buying a new one.
I have 2 small lamps on my dresser that are hooked up to it. They are just enough light to light up the room when we are getting ready for bed (my DH is the one that needs the light to get himself hooked up to his CPAP machine) and then once we are in bed, we clap our hands and the lights turn off - brilliant! :woohoo:

Nice to know - I’ve often thought of getting this ! DH has CPAP machine also thus would be very helpful !! Guess I just found a small bday gift I can obtain !! 👏👏

Don't have one, don't want one. I can still turn on a light :rotfl:
Our room isn't super dark at night because of the window in the bathroom.
I have never heard of that one, just this one LOL

No, I don't have one. I heard other accidental double knock sounds can turn them on & off. I know a traveling theatre group that had clapper radio alarm clocks (with battery backups packed in their luggage.) At the airport, they found out that when the front, then the back end of their luggage hit the luggage carousel it would make a double thumping noise and would turn on the radios on the clocks inside their bags. :lmao: So, no, I didn't want my lamps to be sound activated.

Instead, I got these remote controlled light sockets. I luckily bought an extra one in the set. One already stopped working right. But the other two are going great. This set can also be turned on & off at the light switch, which some of them cannot be.

Don't have one, and never have had one, and Lord knows (and Marie knows also), I'm a gadget guy.

I do have a remote control light on/off/dimmer on my night stand within easy arm's reach to operate the lamp on my nightstand where the lamp is not within easy arm's reach.

We used to have one for grandma. I'm not sure if it's still setup on the her room that we don't use or if we had removed it when she was alive. We liked the remote setups better though. It was nice for grandma to not get up from bed to turn on the light and turn off in the dark back to bed.

I don't have one and never had one. My bedroom lamp is within reach because I have blackout curtains. If I didn't turn on the light before getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom or whatever I'd break my neck. We *do* have a timer on out downstairs lights that we set when we're all going to be out.

We have one because DH thought it would be fun. It's next to the kitchen and when I get pan lids out it turns on. When the cats jump from the window seat it turns on. When the dog plays with her toy it turns on.

But when I clap to turn it off it takes me like three tries. :confused3

Oh, does that commercial bring back memories! Didn't know it was still around.

We have remote control lighting in our master bedroom off our home system.

Never had one, never had the desire to have one. My thought was that the TV would set it off. That, and the thought of company being over, and you're clapping like King Faruk summoning his servants for the platter of grapes and bizarre body oils. Just flip the switch!

There's some occasional clapping in our bedroom but it doesn't affect the lights.:smooth:
Micca's in the running for best post of the day. What do you say, Charles?

Yeah it's gonna be stiff competition ahead, this Friday. But it's too early to tell, Mysterian.

Got any favorites today, Charles?

It's been a busy week, I really think it's anyone's game at this point.

We’ve never had one but when my mom was older and on her own after my dad passed we got her one for her bedroom. It didn’t really work that well though. You had to clap just right or it wouldn’t work. Kind of annoying.

Had one back in the 80’s in college. Blew our roommates minds. If you sneezed you could trigger it …so we were sitting around watching tv and I’d sneeze and the tv turned off. Everyone is looking around like what happened. I sneeze again …it comes back on. They were baffled for hours before we let them in on it🤣
