Corn on the cob is a staple summertime treat for many of us. We cook it a home, we eat it at festivals and go to local corn roasts. But how does the majority of us truly feel about corn on the cob? My DH eats it when I serve it, but he’s just ok with it - he says it’s to messy and would rather just eat corn with a fork. So tell us today…..

What is your opinion of corn on the cob?
Where do you eat it?
(multiple choice)

*Poll request…..if you put toppings on your corn on the cob, that’s different than the normal butter and salt, please post what they are. Many of us would enjoy trying something new. Thanks :thumbsup2

For Me……I love corn on the cob. I try to serve it at least 2-3 times during the summer. I served it last night with our burgers and baked beans, which is what inspired this poll. I just put butter and salt on mine, but would be willing to try something new. I only eat it at home, because I will agree with my DH about them being messy. I also don’t like my teeth being filled with corn (it gets in between my teeth) and then talking with people (when I’d be at a festival or local corn roast)- drives me crazy. At home, I floss my teeth right after dinner.

I eat fresh corn-on-the cob almost every day in the summer. Probably 2 ears a night. Between the corn and watermelon, I probably put on an extra 10 lbs over the summer.

I like it but rarely make it anymore. A few years ago my family said none of them really like it.

I like it a lot.
I served it yesterday with our 4th feast.
I didn't eat any. I would have to take the time to take it off the cob and didn't have the time.
We had some left so today I should get one.
We have it 2-3 times a year.
I only put butter on it

We love corn on the cob and eat it whenever we can get it fresh. I like it with just butter and salt. I have fond memories of my grandma sending me out to the garden to pick a few ears of corn for dinner. Nothing sweeter than that.

It’s ok…I’ve never been a huge fan. If I do have it, it’s plain or with some butter.

It’s also something where I think it’s noticeably better where I grew up. NJ has this variety of white sweet corn that I find to be much juicier and more flavorful. Corn in other areas has more of a starchy consistency and savory flavor.

We eat a lot of corn on the cob in the summer- maybe once a week? I love it and eat it both at home and at friends' homes. I usually boil it as that is fast and easy, but sometimes we'll soak it with the husks on (I put it in a cooler so there's plenty of space), then roast it on the BBQ grill. I like it with just butter, but sometimes also add salt and pepper. One of my favorite places to eat corn on the cob is at Animal Kingdom, from the outdoor food stall near the Safari ride. They put some sort of seasoning on it and grill it- it's a wonderful snack/lunch!

I’ve don’t like it - it’s a nasty mess to eat and I far prefer kernel corn. I do make it a time or two a year when the local stuff is in season. I’ve got a simple way of cooking it - remove the silk and throw it into the oven to roast, husk and all. It gives it an intense corn-y flavour that everybody raves about, especially if they’re used to having it boiled. :thumbsup2

Love it, eat often at home. 💛🌽 Butter and Salt added.

I cut mine off the cob, so I avoid other than home.

NOTE: I boil my corn with about 2 tablespoons of sugar. Even if your corn isn't very sweet the sugar helps change that.
