I love everything you listed. However, I generally make them Turkish style which is to have different things on different sticks because they cook at different rates. Shish just means "skewer" and is the English form of the Turkish word, "şiş." In Turkey they also do a ground meat kebab that is just phenomenal.

I like chicken kebabs, but it is a pain to get everything cooked at the same time. We buy premade ones from a local grocery store and they’re marinated in a sun dried tomato vinaigrette that is delicious. We’ve had them twice so far this summer.

They look nice, but as Brian said above, it's a lot of work just to sit down and pull all the ingredients off of the skewer.

I have never had kebabs, becaise I don’t have a grill. Sometimes I cube beef and roast it with baby potatoes, onions, carrots and other veggies, so I guess that could be a deconstructed kebab.

I pretty much don't ear kabobs. I've had some over the years though. We don't make them at home and I don't order in a restaurant. Marie likes them chicken, at one of the Greek run restaurants that we go to every so often. She'll always give me a few pieces as there as quite a bit to eat. It's good, just not my first choice.

Had pork kebabs on the bbq the other night with the vegetables grilled separately. We like to marinate the meat first and sprinkle with herbs as they cook.

Bring it on! We really enjoy shish kebabs, although they are a pain in the butt to make, to get everything "done" at the same time. Depending on what we are skewering, I sometimes will partially cook things in the microwave before putting them on the grill, or put all the meat on one skewer, all the green peppers on another, all onions on another, etc.
:thumbsup2 Good thinking. That's what I don't like about kababs - overcooked meat v.s. undercooked vegetables. I actually think they're too fussy for what they're worth. I prefer to do bacon-wrapped steak cubes and a pan of grilled mixed vegetables.

My parents used to make them on the BBQ when I was a kid. My wife and I may have had them once or twice at home in our 41 years of marriage. A few specialty restaurants serve them, but seems like fewer and fewer do Kind of old school dish.

We make chicken kebabs with onion, bell pepper and mushrooms. Sometimes we put cherry tomatoes on because they look pretty but nobody really likes the grilled tomatoes (and I love tomatoes in general) so most of the time we leave those off. I especially like the grilled onions (and I don't care if they get a little charred waiting for the chicken to be done.)

There’s a Greek restaurant near us that serves delicious kabobs. We love their lamb kabobs the best.

We hardly ever make them at home, but do make deconstructed kabobs as others have mentioned.

I like them but rarely make them because of all the reasons listed already and it's just soooo time-consuming. I do love to grill veggies, pineapple slices and meats but just not skewered together.
