What is your opinion of White Chili?
Have you made it?

*For those that don’t know…..White Chili is made with chicken and white Northern beans.


For Me….I liked it when my DH made it probably 8-10 years ago.
The inspiration for this poll is me stumbling across this recipe in my recipe book. I’m thinking about making it very soon for dinner, probably on a Saturday when there’s more time.

I have made it, and it was pretty good and I liked it. However, I have only done it once. I guess it is a psychological thing with me, I just feel as if chili should be red.

I agree - it’s ok but seems unnatural chili should be with beef - I think it’s because that’s how I’ve always had it so I’m used to it that way being a person of habit and my love of beef and dislike of chicken may play a role

I have made chili with chicken but still red chili sauce and my chili usually has no beans

Never had it, trying to imagine what the base is since not tomato. I think the idea of a chicken and white bean stew is fine, but it's not chili.

I agree... the recipe I use is more like a chicken/white bean stew, but thicker than stew. In ratio of meat/beans to sauce, it's more like a chili than a stew. I love it.

I like it and I’ve made it. It’s not in my regular rotation but I fall back on it sometimes. My family likes it more than I do.

I've definitely never made it, and I don't think I've ever tried it anywhere else, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying it if I come across it at a party or something.

I really like it. My MIL has made it several times. I've never made any type of chili, so haven't tried it yet. We just didnt' grow up with it. DH is not a big fan of this chili , but loves the regular, so he makes that from time to time.

I’m always looking for new recipes and did try making this once, for a change of pace. The family ate it, although they didn’t rave, but I’ll take that as a win for a fairly easy weeknight supper. I haven’t ruled out making it again sometime.

I haven't had this often, but one time we had a chili contest at work and someone made it - it was the best one! So, yeah, I love it.

Never heard of it. Like pp, I never had any kind of chili growing up, and rarely eat it. (Never had tacos or any Mexican food as a kid either.) My friends serve it every year at their Super Bowl party; that’s about it.

I'm not a big fan of chili (I have texture issues with beans in things* - I have tried and don't really enjoy regular chili), so I haven't tried it. I'd be open to trying a bean-free version.

* I am totally fine with baked beans, where beans are the only texture, but I don't like having them mixed in with other foods.
