I put oyster crackers on chowder, but I’d rather just eat oysters….

It depends on the soup. I like Oyster crackers in certain soups. I make chicken tortilla soup from scratch and add tortilla chips to it. :)

Other. I never use any of those crackers listed in soup but I do use Ritz. When DS was little I’d put goldfish in his soup as a novelty and when I serve a soup course to guests I garnish it with croutons.

Oyster crackers only if offered/available for New England Clam Chowder at a restaurant or literally with oyster soup.

I don't usually put anything in my soup other than crumbling some tortilla chips into my chili (if you count that as soup). I do like both saltines and oyster crackers, but rarely put them in my soup.

It depends on the soup. If it’s a hearty, stew like soup (say, chili or similar) I will break up,a few saltines on top to add a bit of crunchy texture. If it’s a more broth like soup (like chicken noodle) I prefer oyster crackers because they stay crunchy longer. Tomato soup is usually accompanied by a grilled cheese, so no crackers.

Usually I don’t add anything to soup. But occasionally I do use ritz crackers. More likely in tomato or a broth type soup. Sometimes even with cheese on them so the soup melts the cheese. I fish them out before they get to the totally mushy stage.

Depends on the soup. We usually have oyster crackers or corn chips for chili. For tortilla soup or a chicken chili... that's tortilla chips. But for most soups.... that's usually a piece of crusty bread. I learned that if I serve homemade bread that can be dipped into the soup... everyone is happy. :goodvibes

I put saltines in. But I love oyster crackers in restaurants! Not sure if I've ever seen them in grocery stores to buy. I always have saltines at home. I snack on them.

I don't usually, but if available I might. I never keep crackers at home, so if I have soup, it's no crackers. If I am out, I probably will.

I will use goldfish crackers in my chili or tomato soup. Most others I do not use any crackers. I used to use saltines or oyster crackers, but I was making chili one time and did not have any, so I used goldfish since I always have those in the house. I enjoyed it so much that I have continued to do so.

Not at home. Only in a restaurant, and only when they are provided with the soup. Never Goldfish, never thought about using them in soup, and we don't buy them at home and never been offered them in a restaurant.

I always put crackers in my soup -- usually Ritz. I don't eat Goldfish Crackers because I find them very salty. I also put Ritz crackers in my ramen.

I don't really soup.
Wut? My sympathies. I can't imagine life without soup.

In restaurants, I use whatever they give me. At home, I use crackers (usually a multi-grain of some sort). I do love oyster crackers, though, and am currently wondering why I don't buy them!

In Philadelphia on a business trip I had chowder once and they served them with chowder "balls." They were amazing. Hadn't ever seen them before or since.
