Are you a fruit eater?
How often do you intentionally eat fruit?
As in, you pick up a piece of fruit and eat it.
Choosing fruit to put into something counts.

For Me…..I’m trying to eat a piece of fruit (mainly a banana - eating fruit is a slippery slope with my UC) every day in 2023. In 2022 I was eating fruit about 3-5 days a week. In 2021 I was never eating fruit due to my UC raging. I’ve been having infusions for over a year which has helped me immensely and my gastroenterologist said I can eat a small amount of fruit again. Currently there’s bananas, apples, frozen strawberries & bananas and frozen peaches in the house. The frozen fruit I put in my protein drink after I workout.

Well, I'm not really sure how one can unintentionally eat fruit when intentionally is described as picking up a piece of fruit and eating it. That's how you eat a piece of fruit, LOL.

I don't intentionally buy fruit. I am passing through in the grocery store and see it so I buy it.

I intentionally stop on the side of the road to buy corn, tomatoes, or peppers. While doing so, oh peaches look nice, I'll get some of those. I don't stop specifically to buy fruit.

When I do so, I'll buy only a few knowing it will take me a long time to eat them (grocery store stuff, I could eat a basket of good peaches from a farm stand in an hour, LOL.)

Which takes me to where I spent most of my adult life at my home once a week mowing the yard and eating about 6-8 peaches I snagged from the trees as I passed by on the mower. So in the mid to late summer, I ate 6-8 peaches a week, but all within an hour and a half time, LOL.

Due to the high sugar content, I rarely ever eat fruit anymore. Used to eat 2 or 3 apples at a time, same with oranges. Bananas occasionally. Unless you count avocados. Love those and eat them as often as possible.

Average 3 times a week. Apples, grapes, and mixed cut fruit are my favorites.
Apples, grapes, oranges, are in fridge almost all the time. Bananas are mostly for DH, but one in awhile I grab one.

My DD will make a fruit tray to keep in fridge. Every dinner, she puts it on table. She finds the kids will never eat fruit as a snack, but sitting at dinner table talking, they grab fruit.

Unintentionally to me is…..
A cup of Yoplait peach yogurt that has a few teeny tiny pieces of fruit already in it.
Dry cereal that has dried fruit in it
Blueberry pancakes that has a few blueberries in them
And other things like that.

My kids used to say that’s ⬆️ eating fruit and I said - I don’t think so - LOL!

Almost everyday. It is part of lunch.....usually an apple. Sometimes grapes, oranges or strawberries.
A couple of times a week a banana with breakfast......on oatmeal or in a smoothie )and that has mixed berries in it too......blue, black and rasp)

I eat mixed berries in my lunch at work almost every workday, so 5 days a week. Blueberries and raspberries are my favorites. Sometimes, I’ll add a mandarin orange or apple to my lunch. I don’t eat as much fruit on the weekend.

Probably most days, but I don't really keep track.

I like lots of different fruits.

I don’t eat it as often as I would like to. I have issues with certain textures in foods, and so bananas are out, as well as anything “mealy” like apples or pears. Some fruit I prefer cooked, like peaches or cherries. I love berries and citrus fruits and pineapple, and will get some when they are on sale. I actually have about a dozen pineapple plants in my front garden, and typically get a harvest of three or four a year (if the squirrels don’t beat me to them).

Most days. I eat a lot of berries year round—red raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. I eat melons in the summer and pomegranates in the winter. Occasionally an apple, strawberries or mandarin orange.

ETA: I forgot about pineapples and cherries—like those as well. I don’t buy pineapples much anymore. DH won’t eat it, youngest DD likes very little fruit and definitely no pineapple and I can’t finish a whole one fast enough to buy one myself unless my college aged daughters are home to help.

Oddly, youngest DD and DH like bananas. I don’t hate them, but so many other things I’d rather eat. Oldest DD loves them too. Middle DD and I are less interested.

I would say at least 4-5 times a week. More in the summer. I currently have apples, bananas, grapes, pomegranate, tangerines, and blueberries in the house (plus lemons that I don’t eat, but use the juice). I like almost all fruit, with the exception of grapefruit.
