Meatloaf is such a wonderful comfort food for many of us. There’s a million meatloaf recipes out there, so I’m not even gonna try to ask why type of meatloaf everyone likes, but we see who likes homemade vs restaurant made meatloaves. What inspired this poll today is my DD22 is coming home today and she requested that I make her favorite meatloaf, which is a BBQ meatloaf. If anyone’s interested, it’s called Easy Pleasing Meatloaf from the Kraft website https://www.kraftheinz.com/stove-top/recipes/504020-easy-pleasing-meatloaf It’s the easiest meatloaf to make. Most of us know what meatloaf is, but for those that don’t….

I never heard of using oats - you learn something new every day. So let’s find out how you all feel about meatloaf. Give us your meaty good answer today…….

What is your opinion of meatloaf?
Do you prefer homemade or restaurant meatloaf?
(multiple choice)

*If you have a really good meatloaf recipe, please share it. You don’t have to type it out - you can provide a link or take a picture of the recipe you use and post the picture. Many of us may like to try your recipe. Thanks 😊

For Me…..I love meatloaf, but only my meatloaves. I make 3 different meatloaves throughout the year and once in awhile I’ll try a new recipe. The 3 regular ones has BBQ sauce, one is made to have with gravy and the other is a fiesta meatloaf that’s topped with cheese. I enjoy all 3 but the one with the gravy is my favorite one. My mom makes one with ketchup and I’m not a fan of that. I make meatloaf regardless what time of year it is, I don’t save it for only cold weather months like many people do. I’m looking forward to dinner tonight - I haven’t made this since last summer

Love meatloaf I had several recipes but I tried in true as my original passed down homemade recipe for meatloaf it does have oats in it it’s not as firm as every day meatloaf and it’s not really in the shape of a loaf it’s more of an 8 x 10 pan shape more like meat cake🤣🤣 I never eat it in a restaurant because I just like my homemade kind mine does not have gravy on it it has ketchup on top
I do have a bacon cheeseburger one I make that one’s pretty good

I will eat my own meatloaf, but I only make it because DH likes it. I personally could take or leave it (and I never order it in a restaurant).

I tried it with ground turkey but it was just way too much meat for me, the texture was not enjoyable
When I use ground turkey, I add a bit of avocado (usually just one of those little guacamole cups) to replace the fat that would be in beef. It really helps the texture.

I like homemade meatloaf, but am leery of restaurant meatloaf as it can sometimes be dense and dry. My grocery store sells raw meatloaf that is acceptable and they also make meatballs from the same mixture, so I keep a few of the meatballs in the freezer. Then when I get a craving for meatloaf I will thaw two or three meatballs and bake for an individual serving.

I am between I like and I love meatloaf. I don't think I have ever ordered it in a restaurant (maybe once?).

A meal I can prepare early, refrigerate and pop it in the oven (years ago when I had to and knew I would be running around with kids' sports, etc.). I will still prepare it early in the day and refrigerate until ready to bake. I do prefer beef with some pork or the "meatloaf mixture" (has some veal also).

Now that I am cooking for 1, I have it for two nights and will slice and freeze for one or two other meals (two nice slices in each). (depending on the weight of meat/could be more).

We have meatloaf maybe once a month. When DD/SIL/LittleGuy lived with us, it was a fast and easy way to feed 5 people, and sometimes there were even leftovers for lunch. Now that it's just DH and me, I make a smaller meatloaf and we'll have it for supper maybe 3 nights of the week. I don't make it as often in the summer as our house doesn't have air conditioning and I don't want to heat up the house, running the oven for an hour. DH and DD prefer it when I use oatmeal as a binder, but I like it better when I use breadcrumbs. DH LOVES leftover meatloaf sandwiches!

This, exactly. ::yes::

I make it once or twice a year, just for something different. I needed meatballs for a dish earlier this week so I doctored the excess beef up into a meatloaf for the freezer. I’ll haul it out in the next month or so.
