Slippery planks on the Boardwalk?

Okay, my DH thinks I am nuts but the last time we stayed at the Boardwalk I almost broke my neck because the planks of the boardwalk were so slippery. It had rained and I was wearing flipflops and it was like walking on ice. I almost fell at least 3 times. Finally I had to take them off and walk barefoot!

It seemed okay with sneakers. I was too scared to try it with any other shoes. By the end of our 10 days I was totally paranoid about the whole thing.

Anyone else ever have this problem?

Yep! Anytime it's wet on the boardwalk one of us goes flying!

You are not crazy the planks are slippery no matter what kind of shoes you wear. Also be careful in the morning when they clean the Boardwalk.

I could have written that post. A couple of years ago I was rushing from Spoodles back to my BCV room and down I went. I landed on my knee (which has already been seriosuly injured) I was, fortunately OK. Friends warned me ..never wear flip-flops when it is raining and I won't!! The boardwalk was very slippery!

Since I started wearing Teva flip flops I don't have that problem. They don't slip when it is wet. I can even wear them in the rain.

This is so funny because I walk the boardwalk everyday (I work there) and I was just thinking this morning how nice the planks were because I've never stubbed a toe or slipped or anything. I'll have to be careful when it rains

Oh! In September I fell right on my booty! It had rained earlier in the day and I wasn't paying attention and my flip-flopped foot went right out from under me! I must have looked like a cartoon character! I wound up with a bruised, wet butt! DBFF and I have a good laugh about it now!

I never wear flip flops at Disney when it's raining. A lot of surfaces because safety hazards when you don't have traction on your side. I almost broke my neck trying to walk down the ramp from the monorail to the MK entrance.
