Ok.. so I bought a pair of Crocs Athens a few months ago for my last trip to WDW and it was raining and I slipped on Its a Small World and really messed my leg up. I let it go because it wason a ramp and I am clumsy. Anyway.. I have fallen 3 more times in these shoes including the last time a few days ago that sent me to the ER because I was pretty sure I broke my knee. All 3 falls were on wet surfaces and in these shoes. Does anyone else have this problem with crocs? I have done away with them since my last fall of course but I was just curious.

Since Crocs started as boat shoes, it seems weird that they'd not work on wet surfaces.

BUT: I was wearing some Disney sandals with smooth rubbery soles one rainy day on a Keys to the Kingdom Tour....And there were a couple of places on shiny concrete that I could NOT get enough grip to even walk up the slight incline. Very slippery!

I also noticed that the treads on my new Crocs are already wearing down.
I guess it's a trade off in lightweight comfort for somewhat slippery soles.

Sorry you got hurt...hope you're alright now!

Only if they are worn. And usually only at WDW. I fell with my worn Crocs at MGM on a wooden step, and I slipped a few times on the white paint on the street (when wet). I bought new Crocs during the trip and had no problems with the new ones.

I've worn Crocs at least 4 days a week for the last 3 years. I maybe have slipped 2 or 3 other times besides when I was at WDW.

When my crocs were brand new, I could walk over anything. Now that I have worn the treads, they are slippery on wet surfaces.

The crocs were only a week old when I went to WDW the first time I fell. I actually thought maybe they were too new or soemthing because I had not heard a thing about them being slippery. Last time i fell they were only 2 months old and I have only worn them maybe once a week since the disney trip. I wonder if mine are defective or something.. Sad thing is they were comfy in WDW.. Right now I have a dressing over this big gash on my knee that got nicely infected and swollen thanks to my last fall in addition to an ER bill because there was a crunching feeling and noise ( my friend heard it) and could not stand up on it. I am totally nursing it now because i leave for Disney again in 11 days and it HAS to be better. Thanks for your input guys.. I was just curious if anyone else had trouble.

I, too, slipped while wearing Crocs in WDW. I fell on the Boardwalk as I was walking to Epcot (the Boardwalk had been powerwashed and was wet). Now, I find out the Crocs don't do well on wet surfaces. Use with caution!

Whenever my Crocs get wet, they get really, really slipperly. Not the bottoms, but the inside of them, and my feet slip everywhere. Not very fun on Splash Mountain.

I'm so glad to hear than other people have had trouble. I thought it was just me! Dd has a pair of scutes and they are fine on wet surfaces.

I have the "beach" Crocs and I think they are very slippery when wet but my husband's "off road" Crocs are fine.

Mine too! I slipped the other night when I was walking into work. It had been raining and a little mud had washed up onto the sidewalk. If it's been raining I always walk a little more carefully.

Mine, too, are fine on the outside. But, when the inside gets wet, my feet slide all over the place. I have the Athens and the mickey ones I got in WDW.

Yeah, I've had the same problem. And my DH as well. Of course he's totally worn almost all the tread off of his, so that adds to the problem.
