Looking at LL availability for SDD on thrill data over the last 30 days, it looks like there are drops around 9:35, 12:05, and 2:35. So you might want to try refreshing around those times.

The question I always have about these is whether they are just random “pop ups“ that might result from someone cancelling. Those might be gone before you can claim them, especially if you have to cancel an existing reservation first.

I'm bumping this thread because these questions keep coming up on the "Strategy Only" thread and I think it might be helpful to use this thread as spring break season approaches for people to post their specific experiences getting LL times for SDD and ROTR.

I have been checking availability occasionally from home and the pattern of fresh times appearing a couple of minutes before or after 7:10 AM has continued. 7:11 seems to me to be the most common time they appear, but if I was going to be in the park that day, and didn't get a time I wanted at 7:00:00, I would start checking and refreshing around 7:08.

I'd like to hear what others have experienced, including what kind of time they were hoping for (earliest possible, early afternoon, evening, or whatever), and what time they were able to get.

The last two mornings I've seen SDD and RoR availability at around 7:40 that lasts for several minutes. Maybe they have added another drop?

I was able to edit ‘my top selections’ for MK only on the tip board. Why isn’t that an option for HS? (Or is it just my app?)

If you have a park reservation at DHS for a future visit, click on My Day and go through the process of selecting the day for which you have the reservation, select DHS as the park, and make favorite selections there. I think that will cause "edit selections" to appear for DHS on the Tip Board.

I have always had "edit selections" available for all parks, but I think it's because when Genie+ first came out I went in and put in preferred selections for each park for days on an upcoming trip. But others have said they don't appear on the Tip Board until you go through that process under My Day.

The last two mornings I've seen SDD and RoR availability at around 7:40 that lasts for several minutes. Maybe they have added another drop?

Whether it's new drops or just slots returning from people who don't complete the booking process, some slots do seem to come up at those 10 minute marks in the first hour.

But (knock on wood) both testing from home and onsite, there has always been at least some new availability at 7:10. Some days the times start earlier and last longer than others, but there has always been at least something.

The fact that you don’t see blocks every day at those times for SDD could be because the drops don’t always happen, or that they are booked before thrilldata can register it - I read that the data is pulled only every 5 mins. That could be tested by looking at the Tip Board.

My guess is that they aren’t drops but cancellations that Thrill Data happens to hit. Like I said, just because you see something on the Tip Board doesn’t mean you’d be able to get it.

One way to test that at home is to click on a time that you see as if you’re trying to book it. The system will tell you that you don’t have a park reservation that day. Click out and refresh and see if the time is still there. If it isn’t, there’s a pretty good chance it was a pop up that was taken by the first vulture to strike.

If you have 5 minutes to waste sometime try refreshing constantly to see if something pops up. I tried this once or twice from the balcony of our room when we were onsite to see if I could get something rare for the evening. I never had any luck with that.

Some people say they have gotten every ride they wanted, even the rarest ones, by refreshing. They are either a lot luckier or a lot more persistent than I am.

The one I'm seeing at 7:40 seems to be a drop. I refresh for several minutes and the times continually move later.

This morning (second HS day) my app had a spinning glitch at 7:00 when I refreshed that I cancelled out and reopened, and then I booked an ILL rise at 7:01, an ILL MMRR at 7:01 (my fingers were flying!), and a G+ For SDD at 7:03. It was epic and so nice to not need to be anxiously waiting for the next 10-20 minutes. I even had time to select the times I wanted for the ILLs and the SDD was for 10:10am which fit our plans well.

Whomever wrote about going into the tip board and clicking ‘my day’ was correct. Then when I went to the specific day I had park reservations for, I was able to choose the attractions that I was most interested it. It then populated my tip board in that order. That person said it was a back hand way of doing it and it worked! Try it

Let me know if that works because I never had to do it that way myself, or just did it without realizing it when Genie first came out.

Just like last weekend, the availability of times for both SDD and ROTR has been much greater this morning than it usually is.

I’ve noticed this too - there seems to be a lot of availability this morning. And that seems true of ILL across all parks. Maybe Disney is making more drops and listening to all of these complaints??

For those people who are using the 2 phone method at 7:00 am, are both phones signed into the same account? I have the entire family linked in my account so if my daughter is trying to "help" she should be signed into my account as well correct?

Can't speak for the OP, but we find it easier to share the same account. Then you don't have to bother 'linking' all the accounts together and making sure each family member is listed in each account, etc...

On Feb 21st (President's Day) we did both of these. I started with SDD and clicked through as soon as it refreshed and became clickable at 7:00. I ended up getting 2:35 pm, I’m pretty sure it had said around 11:00 when I first clicked. Then as soon as I got to the confirmation page I went back and booked ROTR. I chose an earlier time (I can’t remember now if it was in the 11:00 or 3:30 time frame), clicked through until it was all booked and paid for, and when I noticed it in my genie day a little while later it was actually for 7:35 pm! Luckily that did work for us, it just took me by surprise and irritated me. So we didn’t have any real problem getting both, but the times for both also changed for us after choosing them.

Also, my son was going to be logged in as me and do SDD while I did ROTR but when he refreshed at 7:00 his phone just spun and never refreshed, so I had to do them both.
