Anyone have this package? Pros and Cons? Thinking we need to cut the cord in 2016.

We cut the cord after college football (it's the only sport we watch regularly) ended in January of 2015. We already had a Roku 3 since we use both Netflix and Amazon Prime. We picked up Sling in September to watch the games.

The biggest pro is that you get most of the ESPN family included in the basic plan. We did pick up the sports package for a month to watch a couple of games on the SEC Network. The rest of the fam were glad to have a few other channels back (HGTV, Disney). The biggest con is buffering. The problem is I'm not sure if Sling or Comcast is to blame. You could be watching the game and suddenly it freezes up. When it caught back up to live TV, you may have missed some plays. The interface on the Roku can be a bit buggy. Some channels run on a delay. For example, ABC Family channel will show that it's running a certain movie but it's showing 2 hours behind. Needless to say, we're dropping it again in January.

I was wondering about the buffering. We have that with Prime at times. Usually when one of the children are face timing with a friend.

I have sling with the kids package. For the most part I do like it, however there are glitches. Occasionally it has trouble syncing and I might have to exit and try again (usually fixes in a couple min.). The biggest problem is when they have highly rated shows they haven't always been prepared for. I had several times when The Walking Dead would go out at the beginning of the program. It has gotten better and I think they are continuing to update, but it is not glitch free. I would suggest going on their facebook page and checking comments under their sports posts to see if there is a large amount of current complaints about the things you are interested in (sorry not into sports at all). Overall, the glitches have been worth the savings for me.

Thanks for the suggestion. Im not a sports person- I could live with netflix and amazon prime but my husband likes his sports

We cut the cord first at the year and have never looked back. I got SlingTV about 3 weeks after it first launched. It was buggy then but a lot better now. Sometimes the picture is low quality but I attribute that to the CenturyLink DSL that I am strapped with. I am in lower Alabama and have never missed one game of my Kentucky Wildcats. I also got the Watch ESPN on the Roku and like it also.
Since cutting the cord we have gotten very creative with catching all our favorite programs. I don't miss having cable/satellite at all.
