Sling TV- cut cable

First major issue raised this morning. Disney, Disney XD, Disney JR and ABC Family have disappeared from Amazon devices only. Still showing on computer, phones, tablets and apparently Ruku.

We will see how quickly this is resolved, and the first big Customer Service test for Sling.

Update: This was Fixed sometime this evening . Just checked at around 730pm and everything was working 100%. Not sure how long it was out but I know for sure from 9am to 12pm. When I called they were aware of the issue and it was fixed within half day on a Sunday.

Interesting, but this one only works if you live close enough to the broadcast channels' 'antenna farm' in your town. Somehow no matter where I am I always end up living about 30+ miles away, which is a bit too far unless you're willing to mount a giant channelmaster antenna on your roof. :) Although I can tune PBS locally since it's being broadcast from a different/closer location than the networks.

You might look into gettin those channels with digital QAM instead of an antenna. We get nothing with antenna, but pick up almost all over the air channels perfectly with a digital tuner.

Yeah, I'm an old pro at QAM, I used to run an HDHomerun setup. Weirdly, in my new apartment they seem to be doing more filtering of the QAM signal (when not paying for cable tv but paying for Internet) than they used to. I used to be able to tune all the networks, plus those weird little extras (pbs, a million shopping channels, and occasionally some basic cable stuff like Food or Toon). At my current place, I can only tune half the networks, pbs, BET and, like, Univision. I really wanted to watch the Sleepy Hollow finale live, but no FOX. This was trying to tune with my Samsung tvs. (Been a few years since I killed my last stand-alone htpc tuner.)

If I'm being honest, I pay for Netflix, Amazon prime (more for shopping, but I love their original shows), occasionally borrow my folks' HBO Go login, use a few apps for speciality programming (Logo TV), and ... Torrent here and there. I am not condoning tv piracy (although free TV streaming sites were already mentioned in the thread, same difference), but sometimes something is airing in the UK and it'll drive me crazy waiting for US (edited) airing. Most recent example: Wolf Hall. I know it's a bit of a rationalization, but there WAS no way for me to pay for this show during its premiere airing.
