Why does Disney make it so difficult to plan for Thanksgiving? They wont list Menus/Prices and wait till the last minute to release a list of Restaurants serving Thanksgiving Dinner. In the past few weeks I had to cancel reservations at OHANA/KONA and BOMA because I thought they all had Thanksgiving Dinner... Im still surprised in all of Boma no Turkey will be served that night.... So I changed it to Jiko till I found out the price tag of $75 per person.. I canceled that one and currently have ressies at Liberty Tree Tavern.. I heard this is the place to be for Thanksgiving but I am hesitant about going to MK for Thanksgiving and deal with crowds....not have a glass of wine with my meal... and from what I read deal with the slow service. Any suggestions or advice? Where will you be eating at.

Maybe you can consider changing your mindset. Thanksgiving is about family and friends, not eating a stuffed bird. Plan a restaurant that you will enjoy, with or without turkey. Then when you get home from your trip, cook the bird and enjoy!

We have eaten at LTT, and were only able to get lunch ADR, but it worked great, because we got a lot done early morning, then had our meal, and could leave the park if we wanted(I know there has been a recent menu change that people are not happy about, but when we went it was the family style meal with turkey and the sides included). We have not found MK that crazy on Tday, and actually busiest for us on Black Friday. Maybe a lot of people avoid the holiday thinking it will be crowded, and come on Fri.? Not sure, just our experience with it. I think if you do choose there, do RD, and have FP set up for early afternoon, you would be fine. We have also eaten at 1900PF, which had turkey and mashed potatoes on the buffet(think they did normally at that time anyway?) We also scheduled this as a meal to leave the park early for dinner, check out the gingerbread house and decorations, and then could come back in if we wanted or go back to resort.

Thank you but Im a local and can eat at any of these restaurants any given night. For that am Thankful :) If I choose to eat on Thanksgiving at a Restaurant I want to make sure they serve the one item I am looking forward to eating that night. Mind you I am not complaining or saying not having Turkey will ruin my trip.. Just wondering what others who want a traditional thanksgiving meal while at disney are doing.

I know I saw Raglan Road posted something on their own website about a special Thanksgiving meal plus they will have their regular dishes. You can always check that out. go under upcoming events it has the menu and looks like $28.00

It's ok to be unhappy about the lack of information. Most anyplace else in the world, it would be expected that you know what you're paying for BEFORE you make a reservation. I picked WCC because we'll be staying there, and just hoped we'd end up with at least some components of the "traditional" meal.

Maybe instead of Disney, consider the "dark side" ... Universal. They just posted a general idea of what each of the hotels will have on their Thanksgiving buffet - each of them including Turkey. I know Universal isn't every one's cup of tea, but it is an alternative. Likewise - I understand that not everyone is up for a buffet, but again - it gives us options. And there were reservations still open yesterday when DH suggested I give up my California Grill ADR (yeah - not happening)

We did Boma last year and they had turkey along with a few other choices of meats and other Thanksgiving food along with the African food. We were nervous because it was not on the list and we had booked it because we heard they did it that way. We kept our ADR and were so glad we did. It was great!

Most of the restaurants have some kind of turkey with their meal. I can see how it's not really conducive to have turkey at a place like 'Ohana, but anywhere they can add it to the menu they tend to. If you want traditional thanksgiving meal with less hassle and more chance of finding an ADR I'd go to a secondary deluxe restaurant like Captain's Grille, GF Cafe, or the Wave.... or even a DVC like Olivia's at OKW or the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. All of those should have nice menus with the addition of the traditional turkey.

I wouldn't be too worried about the Thanksgiving crowds, I found them manageable. The day after is another story. Seems like everyone in central Florida is there the day after Thanksgiving.

Eh, I'm at Disney because I really dislike Thanksgiving and an entire Holiday centered around a meal. I'm there to get away from that and spend time with the family.
We are eating at ESPN club while watching football

Whew...I was getting a little panicky myself here. We are also doing Boma (did it back in 2014 as well) because we figured they would have carved turkey as they did last time we ate there.

If we show up with our party of 11...and there is NO turkey...I'll be roasted over the fire myself!

I went with my family for a Thanksgiving visit years ago and was beyond disappointed that the only thing that they offered me was a turkey leg in the park. I planned the trip and it was my family plus my in-laws & my sister-in-law's family and when I got there I couldn't believe there was nothing to be found , no menus modified to include turkey dishes anywhere. I never went back for this holiday for that reason so I'm curious to read what you find if they do make offerings then that's good to know .

I would find something as a backup on yelp outside "just in case" because some reason the place does not embrace it.

Have you considered some Universal places? We have a reservations at The Kitchen in the Hard Rock Hotel for Thanksgiving. They do a buffet that has all the typical Thanksgiving things. I think the price is $58/adult.

I find that interesting.

Disney is one of the few places that I know that post their prices.

I'm not talking about fast food, but nice restaurants. I've actually been to restaurants where even the menus don't have prices.

did you really show up on thanksgiving with a big family without an ADR and expect them to accommodate you? There are lists all over the internet of what Disney did last year for thanksgiving. Virtually every restaurant with an already mostly american style menu adds turkey to their menu. if having turkey is your priority, put in a little effort and see what they have done in the past and book it. If you just want a nice sit down meal then you can easily book that. But to just show up on thanksgiving day with a large group and then be upset you only have QS available to you is not really reasonable. Planning a great disney vacation takes a little effort.

To the OP, a quick google showed me this list of thanksgiving choices at WDW restaurants. Pretty much what I said plus a lot of others, and the suggestion is to try to book lunch over dinner at this late date.

I wouldn't expect a place with a menu such as Boma to have turkey even on Thanksgiving, but that's just me. I mean, it's nice if they do to please traditionalists, but again, I wouldn't go there expecting them to do it.

No, I think it makes the most sense for places with accessible american menus to add turkey to it. They are not going to be doing turkey at places like Teppan Edo or Via Napoli!
