I promised that I'd let everyone know how this workout routine was.

I got through the first tape Start it Up! no problem. A good workout, 30 mins or so, felt like I was doing something healthy. I hadn't really worked out in a while so that was a good starting point. I also did the stretch tape which I really enjoyed. Now the plan says, if I got this right, to do Start it Up for two days and then, if you're comfortable, switch to Ramp It Up. So far, I've done Ramp It Up twice and it's kicking my butt! The first time I had to lay down I thought I was going to be sick. And you're supposed to do it EVERY DAY. There's no way I could do this every day. I think it's too hard for the average overweight person trying to lose weight. Yeah, I bet it works if you can do it every day. I even felt better doing it the second time than I did the first but I think I would hurt myself doing it every day. I do love the exercises with the resistence bands. Makes me feel very strong, but I just wanted to warn everyone, this is super hard. Maybe I'm just wimpy but I don't think so. I haven't even gotten to the last tape Burn it Up! I'm going to keep at it, but not every day.

Just wanted to let you guys know before you spent $100.
 
Wow, why did it cost you so much? I only paid like 68.00 for mine. :eek:

I was faithful to SI6 for about 3 weeks and then I got sick and got out of the routine. I plan to start back with it tomorrow. Have you visited the Beach Body website? There are a ton of helpful people there.

I didn't even attempt Ramp it up until my 3rd week and I never felt that bad about it because I knew I was still getting a great workout with Start It Up. I'm looking forward to getting back to it. I lost about 10 inches in those 3 weeks, can't wait to see what happens if I can stick with it for the long haul.

My routine was to do the regular workout video when I first got up in the morning, then did the ab workout (Slim in 6-pack) and then before bed each night I did the Slim & Limber tape. I felt really good doing these workouts. The first week I did have some days where I was so sore I thought I was going to die but I got through it. LOL

I think these are awesome workouts but you are right, they are hard and if you aren't in great shape (I'm certainly NOT!) I don't think there is any shame in staying with the first video until you are able to move on. Like I said, I'm getting back to it in the morning and after having been off for about a month I'm sure I will be on Start it up for a couple of weeks before I move on again. :)

I'm glad that someone else here is using these workouts. :)
 
Thanks for your input Michelle. I think that's what it cost me b/c I bought the resistance band set too. I will go back to the tapes...probably start over with the first tape and build up to the next. It's a lame excuse but I have to have my husband hook up our upstairs VCR. When I do it downstairs, the dog thinks I want to play. Last week she was piling dog toys on my back while I was doing pushups!

Omigosh, too funny about your dog! I think mine gets tired just looking at me because she just lays on the couch and watches, probably thanking God that she's a dog and doesn't have to do such silly things to get in shape. LOL

That makes sense if you got the resistance bands, I didn't know how much those were. I already had dumbells so I just use those. :)

I hope you get your VCR hooked up soon! :)
 

Hi Tiff - thanks for your review - glad it's working for you.

I ended up sending mine back - I could feel it working, but I have a bad knee (have had 2 surgeries, still facing a 3rd), and all the squats, plies (don't know how to spell :D ) really got to me.

Funny about your dog!!!
