Slightly OT, but I need suggestions!

Our family doctor for the past 4 years is moving to North Carolina because of her dh's transfer. Andi will be terribly missed by my entire family. My kids actually enjoy going to the doctor's office because they know Andi and her nurse, Karen, will be there. Both of them are very sad Andi is leaving.

I want to get her a small token of appreciation so that she knows how very much we appreciate everything she has done from us - very terrible emergency to small boo-boo's.

She always took the time to ask questions, notice everyone and everything..... Kind of silly, but we are really going to miss her!

I know we have a couple of doctor's wives on the WISH board so I decided to ask here. Besides Andi has helped get me healthy! Any suggestions? I don't have much time so ordering something from WDW wouldn't work. HELP!

I would think a small framed picture of your family and a heartfelt note telling her how much she has helped you and meant to your family would be enough. You could also include a nice bouquet of flowers if that doesn't seem like "enough".

Thanks for the suggestion, Doreen! I had thought of a picture frame but I didn't want Andi to think she had to keep a picture of us around! That would be a fun one for her to explain. I could always give it to her empty or with a drawing from the kids instead. A heartfelt note will definitely be included!

Geetey, I know exactly how you feel!! A couple of years ago, my DD's pediatrician moved away to Oregon and we felt like we were losing a best friend! My DD has Severe Asthma and Reflux and her ped was always there for us when we needed her most, right up to meeting us at the ER some nights! It is hard to loose a trusted physician!

Anyway, Savannah and myself made her up a really pretty basket with Yankee Candles in it...one big jar in the middle, a couple of votives, a beanie baby (naturally!), some candy and a nice note of thanks for all her years of dedication to our daughter. She loved it and thanked us for it and as of today, we still correspond through email...She is very much missed by us all! I don't think it is silly at all!

We have a local pottery place where the kids can go and paint a plate, etc. How about if you have something like that in your area. Your children would enjoy doing the art work and then it may be something she can display in her new office.
