Slight Updates to Great Movie Ride

Just rode the Great Movie Ride today. In the final movie montage, there are some slight updates. I noticed Pirates of the Carribbean, Finding Nemo, Chronicles of Narnia, and a few others. It was pretty neat.

YAY! It's DH's favorite ride at MGM and he insists on going on it at least twice per MGM visit. Personally, I was getting a little tired of it.

Great. One of my favorite rides. Though I would like to see some other changes. I think they should definatly keep in some, like Mary Poppins, and Wizard of Oz, but they really should redo it to include some newer movies.

I absolutely love this ride and love the film clips, but I agree that the clips need to be updated to keep the younger crowd interested (I'm in my late 40s and recognize most of the movies...can't imagine what 20-somethings thinks of the film clips though).

I'm 21, and recognize several of the earlier movies, obviously I recognize the more recent ones, like Independance Day, Aladdin, and Star Wars. But out of the older movies, that I remember seeing were, The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, and a few others, though I can't think of what they are right now.

well yeah it all depends. Im 18 and a huge movie buff so i recognize most of the movies, reguardless of time period.

We also noticed this update the day before Thanksgiving. I was not sure how long it had been playing with the updates as we had not been since early last year.

It changed since I was there in Oct, I read on Mouse Planet that it just happened.

i just rode that on tuesday and noticed the changes as well!

They hadn't changed it in April when I was down, (or at least not that I remembered!)

Last time I went on this ride was the first week in Nov.
The color/film quality was horrible.
So hopefully they replaced the entire film 'quality' wise.

I've been going to MGM since they've opened. I do think this ride could use some updates, one part I think is the ALIEN area. Maybe even get rid of the Tarzan and Marry Poppins areas.


Off topic but I really miss the way they were more of a working studio back when they first opened. The old tour where they had sound stages and the long tram tour was interesting.

I agree! I also enjoy the clips when you are waiting in line, and hate when you move through too quickly!
