Sleigh rides vs. Carriage rides

Hi,

I will be going to Disney World in December, and I was wondering which is better, a Christmas sleigh ride or a carriage ride, unless they are the same. I plan on going after the Hoop Dee Doo, which is at 5pm. Since we will be at Fort Wilderness, I guess the question is which is held where. If the sleigh ride is held at the Wilderness Lodge, is there a convenient way to get from FW to WL? Also, which is more romantic?

Sleigh rides are only available at the WL. There is a walking path between the two locations, but I believe it's about a mile and not lit for night walks, so you'd need to either take the boat or bus there instead. From reading a few threads, I would suggest staying at FW and doing the carriage ride instead. People have talked alot about seeing all the campsites decorated for the holidays and how nice it all looks.

Whichever one you decide to do, please book it quickly....you can book at 90 days out. Earlier this week, I booked my sleigh ride for Christmas week. Hope you have fun!!

I tried to book a carriage ride for December 23rd, but I was told that they were not available due to a special event. I had wanted to book the carriage ride so that I could see the campsites decorated for Xmas. I ended up booking a sleigh ride instead.

That's the evening we've got a sleigh ride booked....right after having dinner at WCC!!

Thanks! I just booked a carriage ride on December 22 at 7:30 pm. I think that should be enough time after the HDDR at 5:00 pm.

I booked a carriage ride from Ft. Wilderness on December 23rd at 7:00. I certainly hope there isn't a problem! I have the confirmation number, so perhaps the CM was just wrong about there not being any that night.

Thank you so much for posting!!! I just called back and was able to get the carriage ride! I guess I got a CM that didn't know her info! Anyway, I just canceled a sleigh ride for 9pm on 12/23 if anyone needs it!
