Sleigh Rides for first time at the Fort!

Just booked this as a surprise for DH. I am not familiar with FW, so is the Blacksmith's shop near where the buses coming from the parks drop off, or do I need to use the internal resort bus. Also, if I am going back to the CR from there, how do I get to the boat back? I am so excited!!!

The blacksmith shop is back by pioneer hall. If you are coming off the boat, it is down the walkway to your right past Pioneer Hall, near the stables. It will be easy to get the boat back at the end. If anyone is coming in on a bus, take a settlement bus back. You should be all set coming and going from CR!

have fun!

Thank you so much Donna! I've heard so much about the campsite Christmas decorations and can't wait!

This looks great! What better way to see some of the Fort at Christmas! We're only 400 days away from pulling in...but really, we're not counting :rotfl:

This, like most other things Disney, seems to be a little pricey, but hey, it's Disney, I have a feeling we'll be doing this at least once.

They have been offering holiday themed carriage rides at Fort Wilderness for a while and the "sleigh" is really just a carriage. The first time we did it in 2001 we actually went through the campground to see everyone's decorations. It was really great! The second time we did it we went out past Mickey's backyard BBQ and along the path to the WL. That was dark and *boring* and I wouldn't recommend it.

Here's a photo of the horse:

Didn't Disney have these before ? I thought I saw this on the Samantha Brown Disney Holiday special last year. Horse drawn at the fort and Reindeer drawn at Disneyland. Sounds like something I could earn some "Good Hubby" points that I could redeem for another Disney fishing trip.
