I want to schedule either a sleigh ride from WL in December...or a carriage ride from Fort W. Any opinions as to which one is better? and why?

Thanks!!!!

Kristine -

Talk to Denise. She did the Sleigh Ride last year.

Thanks Tammi....I am pretty sure she liked it.

I would sure like to know how the two compare though

I keep trying to book the sleigh ride they tell me they have no information on it and that they don't know if they are going to have it???

I called Disney's Recreation line i thought it was 90 days before your trip so those travelling Dec 1st should have been able to book 9/1 right? i called on the 4th just for information and got told they had none

Am i calling the wrong number?

You are calling the right number! For whatever reason, there is no information available in their system. Hopefully they are still doing it. However, I booked a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness as a back up..just in case.

It's a carriage that is decorated to look like a sleigh...

Does anyone know if they offer a holiday themed carriage ride at POR/POFQ? Thanks Kathy

I still can not book the sleigh ride. The CM's keep saying to call back tommorrow. One CM said that they do not start booking them until 90 days in advance. I informed them that that would have been 20days ago! They appologized and said tocall back next week. I really hope we can get it for the 3 of Dec since I just rearranged some of my ADR's to accomodate it. Take Care Kat

When I called back today the CM said mid Oct. Maybe I'll just book a regular carriage ride!!

Hi! I decided to go with the carriage ride. We are eating Christmas Eve dinner at Trails End so it was closer for us. I also read you will see all the RV lights and decorations at Ft Wilderness so it sounded nice.

I haven't been able to find out anything about the sleigh rides but here some good general information about the carriage rides:

"Horse-drawn carriage rides are available from nightly from 6PM – 9:30PM at Port Orleans Riverside (in front of Boatwright's Dining Hall), Saratoga Springs resort (near the Boat dock), and Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground (near Crockett's Tavern at Pioneer Hall). Up to four adults or two adults and three children will fit in the carriage. You may bring your own beverage on the carriage. Reservations for the 25 minute rides are suggested and can be made up to 90 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-PLAY (939-7529). $35 fee charged for no-shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice. Walk-ups are permitted but drivers cannot accept credit card payments. Cost: $35 per carriage, not per person."

1) I prefer the carriage rides.
2) The sleighs have wheels (this is Florida and snow melts quickly).
3) If my ride is going to have wheels, I want real wheels.

Yes, they will take you by to see the lights and decorations at the campsites. It's amazing the amount of decorating some people can do to their RV -- it really puts my house to shame!

It's very festive, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. We did!
