We have dinner ADRs at both Biergarten in Germany in Epcot, and also at Crystal Palace in MK. DH would like to know if he wears a sleeveless shirt will that be appropriate in those restaurants? Otherwise he will wear short sleeves, just wanted to see if he could be a bit cooler in sleeveless! But he prefers to dress appropriately and not offend anyone so if necessary of course he will wear short sleeves! Thanks!

Yes, both the Biergarten and Crystal Palace are as casual as all of WDW's theme park restaurants. He can definitely wear that. :thumbsup2

No problem. I have seen men in sleeveless shirts on many occasions at both.

I think a sleeveless shirt would be fine.

Off topic but the most inappropriate dinner attire I have ever seen was at the buffet of an all-inclusive resort in Mexico (mind you the official dress code was long pants for men & a casual shirt) -- anyway, there was a guy in there eating who I think was French -- wearing a cut off t-shirt and a SPEEDO! blech!! Let's just say I wasn't very hungry after seeing that!

Just because men do it doesn't make it ok. Men in sleeveless shirts is a look that should be saved for the privacy of their backyards. Please have mercy on the rest of us.

Preach on!!!

The last thing I want to see is some guy's armpit :scared: as I'm biting into my meal.

He's fine. It's the singature resturants that you should be more dressed for.

Quite honestly, I never notice others in a restaurant unless they call attention to themselves with loud or obnoxious behavior since I'm usually engaged in conservation with those at my table. But if you're the kind of person who would notice a big hairy Yeti-type wearing a tank top at another table and be offended by it, then it wouldn't be right to subject others with roving eyes to something you'd rather not see yourself.

Good luck & Have a great trip!

I keep picturing Larry the Cable Guy in his cut off flannel shirt :lmao: ,I don't think that is what your are referring too. DH wears muscle tee's and tank tops all the time and they are okay.

I'm okay with pits as long as he keeps his arms down but I hope his shoulders are manscaped if there's any "growth" in that area.:cool2:

IMO I think sleeveless shirts are ok except in the buffet restaurants. The idea of exposed man pits and possible detached hairs makes me

Yeah, hairy pits exposed in restaurants equals blech! on guys and girls (hey I've seen it before). Also if someone must wear sleeveless, why does it have to be those white "wife beater" looking things? Saw too many of those last trip. :confused3

I think everyone is being a bit harsh on guys in sleeveless shirts in a restaurant. Men shouldn't have to always wear a sleeved shirt at Disney World. We women can go around in our halters and tank tops but a guy can't? Because they only shave their faces? I think that's really being unfair. If you don't like what you are seeing, change places at your table so you aren't facing it. Like turning the channel on the TV when a program comes on you don't like. Honestly, you are expecting one guy to change everything he's doing just to satisfy you.

OP - unless Disney World says your husband cannot wear a sleeveless shirt, have him wear whatever he is comfortable in.

Personally, I can't stand to see flip-flops in any restaurant. But they are allowed so I deal with it.

Backyards and beaches. Period.

It's just my opinion, and "anything goes" at disney but men in public in tank tops is kinda ewww.
Will I see it? sure. Is it appropriate? no. Same with girls in shorts shorter than underwear and jogging bras...they seem to think this is public clothing at disney...I disagree. But that's just me. :)

No one wants to see that hairy back, sasquach. Cover-up. And take care of that foot fungus before you bare those toes. :rotfl:
