Weather forecast just said that we could get sleet & freezing rain on Sunday. I guess that means kids might be home on Monday. I've begged DH to take us to WDW and he just says "no". I can't take it anymore, I don't know how you folks up North do it- Calgon Take Me Away!

I just saw the forecast also, I couldn't believe it. The kids will be here at home with me, but they will be having school - we homeschool;) . They can't use that reason not to have to do school. Maybe if we pray real hard the forecast will be wrong.:D

I live in Greensboro and ya'll are making me nervous. If I don't soon get a whole week with everyone in school or at work I am going to SCREAM.

I don't watch much TV so I haven't heard the forecast. The last I heard Sunday was going to be rainy.

I heard it will get nasty here too:( Of course I always use the wait and see method. They also said we might get 1-2in of snow. I'll believe it when I see it:rolleyes: Of course that doesn't mean that everyone around us won't get hit. I just guarenteed we wouldn't get any snow here becuase our son son received a snowboard for Christmas:smooth:

Looks like we are going to get some freezing rain too.

KristiKelly, do me a favor keep it down there please, we are suppose to be getting something on Monday, I hate this weather.
:D

va is going to have snow sunday snow showers rain and sleet i like watch the weather

They are calling for freezing rain tomorrow night in Kansas City. DD has a school dance tomorrow night. She has a date and they were going to go to dinner prior. Now, I don't know that I want her to go. The school is only about 5 blocks away. I guess they could skip dinner and still go to the school since it is so close. Unfortunately, her date doesn't go to her school. He lives quite a ways away. I don't really want him out in bad weather. I hope his parents pay attention to the weather.

Send it all up here! We haven't had any snow days yet and we can use 5 before we make any up! My 8th period is driving me CRAZY!

We are supposed to be getting some bad weather in NY...can't be too bad if I have some snow days, all I'll miss is a couple midterms ;)

We have some snow starting already (9pm) here. I didn't think we were supposed to get anything until Saturday night. Our kids are already scheduled off for Monday (professional day) and already have to make up 2-3 days. I wish our school system would build some days in instead of adding 5 possible makeup days to the end of the calendar every year.

here it comes. Sleet should be starting sometime tonight or early Sunday morning. DH checked the generator today and it would NOT start. Hopefully we won't have the freezing rain that tends to bring down the tree branches.

We have been watching the weather here pretty closely. The latest forecast calls for 1/2 to 1 inch of ice!

Something tells me that we are in real trouble here if it gets that bad. I just pray that we keep our power on...it will get real cold if it goes out!

we are sitting right on the line. South of us is sleet and freezing rain, north of us is snow. I would like to see it just pass right over us, but if thats not an option, I will take the snow anyday. I just hope its better tomarrow, I don't want a snow day....

Yup the forcast here is snow. I dont mind if it is just snow, but I dont want the freezing rain and sleet. I can get to the mall in snow, but I wont drive in the ice!

It's snowing here and they are calling for it all day. They are now saying 3-5 inches and then it is to turn to freezing rain later this evening and go until possibly in the morning. I don't mind the snow at all, it's the freezing rain that worries me. Hopefully they have called it wrong and we'll just get all snow.

Tammy,

I hope that it isn't as bad as last year. We were without power for a week. Thank goodness we had a gas stove and gas water heater. After about 4 days I took the kids to my mother's house. My husband stayed here because authorities said people were breaking into houses.

Lori-
I agree with you and hope that it's nothing like last year. We were without power for about 4 days. We did have the gas logs, but no running water. We did stay here (except for DD-she stayed with Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw who had power). We hooked the generator up to the pump house every now and then and lived by candle light. It isn't something that I wish to go through again, but we did buy a coleman grill so we could at least cook some if it did happen.

It is very pretty right now and I am feeling a very lazy day coming on.
Tammy:D
