Sleeping in Cinderella Castle Suite

Makes sense or not, it's what we were told. There is only ONE Cinderella suite as opposed to 40 Mickeys (or whatever number) that can be booked for private meet and greets.

I was just saying that just because a tour guide said it doesn't make it real.

This. i won a night in the suite during the Flipside sweepstakes in 2015. If anything that one night was not enough time to be "stuck" in the suite!

Nope wasn't saying they didn't say it just saying that CMs will often make up stuff to answer a question or provide a little "fact" when it isn't real at all. Sure you heard someone say it never doubted that part I was just saying that the CMs reasoning doesn't make any sense to the Disney's idea of they can sell you magic. Sorry that you took it personal as that was not the intent.

Oooh auctions for charities? Maybe that is how Tom Cruise got to stay there. We looked for his signature in the guest book but were told that there are two - one for celebrities and one for contest winners (rabble).

I imagine it is for auctions that the general public do not get invited to. Those types where they have to know you are dripping money before they send out the invite.

Also, on the Keys To the Kingdom tour, the tour guide told us that the Cinderella Suite is not for sale. Their reasoning is they don't want any child to be able to say 'My daddy is better than yours because he got us in the Cinderella Suite.'

BTW, if you were to stay in the suite, you are basically locked in for the night. Once the park closes, you can't leave the suite until it opens the next morning. There are no windows in the suite. This way you can't see what goes on over night. They don't want you to see the cleaning and repairs in the park and have the magic be spoiled. The suite has it's own concierge and security when someone does stay there.

Others say the first part does not make sense, I say your second park makes no sense either. Maybe the castle suite has no windows because it was built long before they ever made an suite out of it. Have you ever been to Disneyland, Paradise Pier, any floor about 5th facing DCA. We stayed concierge there several times, when WDW talk about park view I laugh my *** off, PPH has theme park view, at night and early morning, you can see so well, you can see what color bags they use, if the cleaners have mustaches or not, or wears glasses (I know Disney does not let workers have mustaches). You can see as far as the cars mountain, all of the pier, and everything. You see all the food trucks bringing food in. If Disney did not want you to see the work going on at night in there park, they would of had to tear down the PPH and rebuild it facing the other direction when they bought it, because I swear you could see a dime on the ground anywhere near the pier at 5 am when the park is closed.

Having lived 10 miles from Disneyland, I can tell you that DCA is not treated the same as Disneyland. The 'magic' really happens in Disneyland. DCA has a different set of values. For example, in Disneyland, you will not see track supports unless it thematically fits the ride. DCA does not have that restriction. Disneyland has a lot more of the workings hidden from public view, i.e. In DCA if you look in the lake, you can see all the equipment for World of Color. In Disneyland you are supposed to escape the real world. On the train around the park, your attention is always directed into the park, never to the outer edge of the ride. So, not allowing guests to see the painting and repairs done in Disneyland is understandable.

Oh, and male employees are allowed to have moustaches. It must be fully grown in and kept neat and trim. Women, however, are not.

Um... the castle suite does have windows... two bays of them - one by the beds the other in the sitting area. The easiest ones to see from the outside is the ones with Gus, Jack & the key. They are frosted so it is hard to see out of them, but you can absolutely look out. I took a video of the first of the crowd coming in the morning we were kicked out - and added a screen grab below. If I had to guess it would be so people can't look in (though with the angle Im not sure thats an issue..?) Maybe its so they don't have to clean them everyday or it cuts down on glare in pics or something?

One of the other contest winners reported that they WERE taken out during their night, but the girl who won was either in or going to be in (I can't remember) the college program so maybe they made an exception for her... it IS Disney after all and they do so love their exceptions. Some of the other winners also got freebies during their stay of souvenirs, extra fast passes etc but we did not. We were given a cup of coffee during the Electrical Parade viewing from the VIP section which was very nice of them..! Probably the only time in my life my "staff" will get me a coffee. I don't think we were very much fun for them to be honest though... my husband and I are just a couple of shy Disney dorks, no kid to fawn over, not famous, not playing it up with t-shirts or anything. I get the feeling they have a little bit of carte blanche to make magic happen when they want to, so everyone's story is going to be different from another guest just like so many other experiences on property.

Maybe the frosted glass looks better from the outside? And no awful glares from the sun hitting it and flashing back to the park?

I bet that's it. Though you may have windows they are not like what you have in a typical hotel room, that's for sure. Appears you can't see much.
